The Ten Commandments are not what is meant in the Bible as “The Law”. Moses delivered the 10 Commandments but gave the Israelite s much more law in how to live life. As time went on Prophets and Scribes, later Rabbi's added to the law which explained how many steps you could take on the Sabbath along with thousands of other things. The Ten Commandments are not considered as part of the Law. The law was given by men but the Ten Commandments were given to Moses and written by the finger of God. The Ten Commandments are most certainly still in effect. Which one of them do you think you can break without consequence unless you repent of it? Can you not love your God? Can you dishonor your parents and expect to go to heaven? What about Lying, or surly you can murder now without consequence. All of the Ten Commandments are still in force, if you disobey them you do it at your own peril and are surely not Christ's.

I agree with you 100%. How should modern Christians adhere to the 4th Commandment?

You lie. In Romans 7, when Paul spoke of the law, he quoted the 10th Comnamdment, "you shall not covet."

Are we living on the right mountain? The 10 commandments were given on Mount Sinai, but Jesus and the Holy Spirit were presented on Mount Zion. That is why the Bible says that “you have not come to the mountain [Sinai] that may be touched and that burned with fire, and to blackness and darkness and tempest… But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels”. (Hebrews 12:18, 22)

The Lord blesses us out of Zion (Psalm 128:5), and not Sinai!

By grace we have been saved through faith. (Ephesians 2:8) Let's live on the right mountain!

Thank you. When a Jew speaks of ‘The Law’ he’s talking about the Torah Law - not the 10C. And the Torah is only for Jews.

Is that so ?

Why then does St. Paul call the law, that was written on stones ? A ministry of death ?

The only “ Laws “ that were “ written on stones “ as St. Paul said are the Ten Commandments, and St. Paul called it, the law , that was written on stones the “ ministry of death “ ..

Paul talks about that we are not married to the law anymore in the 7 th chapter of Romans, and even gives a example of one of the Ten Commandments, THOU SHALL NOT COVET..

So the argument that the Ten Commandments was not part of the law that Paul was talking about that we are not under anymore, or married to falls flat on it’s face..

Check it out in the 7th chapter of Romans, it’s there, THOU SHALL NOT COVET... part of the Ten Commandments...
Paul says in that very same chapter that we are no longer married to “ THE LAW “ THE TEN COMMANDMENTS..

The speed limit in downtown Jerusalem is in FORCE to; but I sure do NOT have to drive that speed on I-70 in the eastern part of Indiana!
