What is your take on why people are fleeing the church?

Some men left because they didn't want anyone to think they were molested. It was embarrassing.

Then (and this is where I put on my tin foil hat) homosexuals infiltrated the clergy in massive numbers and basically just destroyed everything from within.

This may surprise some Catholics, but the homosexual "problem" within the clergy of the Catholic church was not a new thing. Reading the writings of men like St. Peter Damian demonstrate that this has been happening for centuries. Here are a few links about that:

Irish politicians in America have always been crooks, but they didn’t turn pro-abortion until the Kennedys led the way, with the support of Cardinal Cushing (who was gay, and a buddy of Dr. John Rock, developer of The Pill).

Dr. John Rock was a Roman Catholic- a fact many seem to ignore. From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Rock_(American_scientist):

As his career progressed, Rock also became known for his acceptance of birth control. (Birth control was illegal in Massachusetts until the 1965 Supreme Court case Griswold v. Connecticut.) In the 1930s, he founded a clinic to teach the rhythm method, the only birth control conditionally regarded as moral by the Catholic Church. In 1931, Rock was the only Catholic physician to sign a petition to legalize birth control. In the 1940s, he taught at Harvard Medical School—and included birth control methods in his curriculum. Rock also coauthored a birth control guide for the general reader, titled Voluntary Parenthood and published in 1949.

Rock also fertilized human eggs in vitro around 1950—which, of course, he destroyed. Prominent Catholics petitioned Cushing to excommunicate Rock for abortion, and Cushing ignored them.

Cardinal O’Connell of Boston was in the closet. As was his successor, Cardinal Cushing, and his succressor Cardinal Medeiros. That covers from ca. 1900 into the 1980’s! Don’t know whether Law is/was gay, but his coddling of perverts of all kinds is certainly suggestive. O’Malley is extremely gay-friendly—with gay-friendly parishes, gay Masses, etc. So that’s about 115 years of non-stop gay or gay-friendly Cardinal Archbishops.

Many women think queers are cute and easy (and fun) to talk to...Normal men however are repulsed by them...
