I respectfully suggest it is the Catholics who need to address Catholic issues.
All denominations need to stop pointing fingers at others and fix their own house first.

FR shouldn’t be a religious battleground.
This will only cause further divisions within the Conservative Base.

You’d think Catholic and Protestant FReepers could have firm agreement that these apparitions are CLEARLY demonic, regardless of other affections around Mary. I’ve heard a lot of nonsense “channeling” claiming to be a message from God. If it restates Scripture—which is NOT “just a book” and which is now complete whereas it was not—then we DO NOT need it. If it counters Scripture it is under a curse.

Where in the Bible does it say that every Church Teaching must be derived solely from a passage of Scripture?

Where is Sola Scriptura in the Bible?

This is shear hypocrisy, demanding that Catholics adhere to principles that Luther invented, while exempting their own teachings from Luther's traditions.

“If he will not listen to the church, treat him as a pagan or tax collector.” —Jesus

Rationalize that passage as you see fit, because, let's face it, at bottom, no individual Protestant regards any authority as greater than his personal interpretation of Scripture.

Does not matter if it is bible-based. It works real well. And you know them by their fruit.

The rosary and any repetitive chant as prayer is really nothing more than meditation—clearing your head of all extemporaneous activity and focusing your mind on a single theme.

It’s just because it’s focused on Mary, is it considered horrible on Free Republic.

There are other religions with prayer beads. But their names are best left unsaid in these parts.

Matthew 6:7

But when you pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

We have a new keyword abuser! - or should I say an old one, since I've also been the subject of that keyword for nearly a decade.

Please leave the Orthodox Christian topic off of such rants. Thank you.
