As the chart ... shows, Catholicism is the most common religious tradition in 17 states, while white evangelical Protestants are first in 15 states, mostly in the South. The religiously unaffiliated are the most common religious group in 13 states, mostly in the Pacific Northwest and the Northeast.
Three states are outliers: Utah, which is 56 percent Mormon, the largest percentage of one single religious tradition, and Iowa and North Dakota, where white mainline Protestants are the dominant religious tradition.

There have been several Haitian-American Republican elected officials and political candidates in South Florida, most prominently former North Miami Mayor Josaphat Celestin.
Interesting. I never knew Haitian-Americans leaned Republican. I do know there’s an even more GOP-friendly group when it comes to Filipino-Americans. I believe they’re the most GOP-leaning of all asian-americans. I don’t know what the numbers are nationally, but in my own inner-circle, about 90% of Filipinos I’ve met are GOP voters. They are also overwhelmingly Catholic. Nationally I’m guessing their numbers are too small to have an impact any important political campaigns, since the media tends to ignore them.
As a side note, I really struggle to understand how every Catholic I have ever semi-known, mostly colleagues at different jobs, was very heavily democrat and outspoken about it too. About like I can't understand for the life of me why the American Jewish folks support so heavily Dems who openly despise and work to destroy Israel. There was just one exception I can think of from my personal experience. Several years ago in DC w/the 2A sisters, during the SC case on Keller, I did meet one Jewish woman from a chapter up I ‘assume’ may have been a republican.
I do understand that a lot of folks are just too lazy or distracted to do their own research or rebel against their programming of group-think. But will make a difference to educate and wake everyone? Since so many are just looking to be ‘entertained’, maybe popular Music with lyrics about what is going on? Comedians pointing out the obvious in clever jokes? While that might seem like I am joking about that - I am not. I remember somewhere hearing how those items, especially making fun of political folks for real transgressions, goes a really long way in opening eyes.
Thanks for letting me ramble on*.

Most Filipino-Americans are Republican? My understanding was that, in Hawaii, they were one of the most heavily Democrat ethnicities. But mybe that only was when RAT Gov. Cayetano (of partial Filipino descent) was on the ballot.
Vietnamese-Americans used to be the most Republican Asian group, and I suspect that they still are so.
Just googled it and you’re correct. Nationally, Vietnamese-Americans were the most Republican friendly asian demographic. Only 44% of them voted for 0. However, Filipino-Americans were the second most GOP-friendly group, and together they were the only two asian ethnicities that voted Republican by plurality. (again, it appears to come down by generation gap... Filipinos under 30 heavily supported Obama, Filipinos over 65 heavily supported Romney). The least GOP-friendly asian demographic was Bangladeshi-Americans. 96% of them voted for 0.
Bangladesh is a Mohammadan hellhole, so no surprise which way they’d vote here, unfortunately.
That little weasel Manny Pacquiao, a folk hero to Filipinos, endorsed Harry Reid and Jerry Brown, that certainly hurt GOP performance among Filipino-Americans in those races.
Yeah, I haven’t been this shocked since Clay Aiken came out of the closest.
My take from the data is that Catholics are generally liberal yankee democrats or illegal aliens.
And why are White and Black Protestants separated by race in a way that Catholics aren't?
Gay Aiken is Clay ? Next thing you’ll tell me is that Jm J. Bullock is one, too.
Bite your tongue, old man!
Sandra is currently screwing Michael McDonald, of the the late “Mad TV”.
I actually got hit with an identity theft event in the middle of my 4-day outage. I almost thought it was a coordinated assault!
Sounds like they scammed a wireless company for a new device. I have a new hobby now to take the place of campaigning. I am sure most be would be shocked to see some of the errors on their credit report. or am I the only one who doesn’t order it every year?
