Matthew 8 verse14: When Jesus came into Peter’s home, He saw his mother-in-law lying sick in bed with a fever. 15He touched her hand, and the fever left her; and she got up and waited on Him...

So learning from History, The RC Church should have clergy who are married and thus avoid some unsavory scandals. Peter was married.

“Peter was married.”

At one time. Was he still married during Christ’s three year ministry?

Christ wasn’t married - except to the Church.

St. Paul wasn’t married.

Priests don’t have to be married.

We do have some priests who are married. One of my best friends is a married priest. He is a huge proponent of celibate clergy because of his own experience. He used to be a Lutheran pastor.

Yeah. Like Fr. Haggard. And Fr. Swaggart. If only they had been allowed to marry.

“Pastor” Ted Haggard was married to but it didn’t keep him from snorting coke and having sodomite sex with other men.
