Just because your are nominally Catholic, does not make you a practicing Roman Catholic. Let’s ask the same set of questions to Catholics who attend Mass every week and you will see a radically different result.
Maybe liberal Catholics should give up calling themselves Catholic for Lent.
It does make you a member of the Catholic denomination if you are a Catholic and call yourself a catholic, regardless of how often you go to church.
They only call Catholics, Catholic in these polls, they don’t count non-Catholics as Catholic.

I’m Catholic. My Catholic friends on FB (those of which I’m obviously not very close to) that are progressive really have no right calling themselves Catholics. They don’t agree with anything the church stands for but were raised in a Catholic family. They remind me of people that say they are only “ethnically” Jewish but don’t follow the faith.

The Catholic leadership have no concerns for how the membership will handle these changes....because most catholics already aceept the idea of the Popes move to bring the worlds religions together with the Pope as King Leader.
The Episcopal churches and other denominations, which have fallen away from Christianity, are also doing this.
The whole idea is the church that surfaces, when all is said and done, will eventually have an “apperance” of being religious, but it’s membership far from God. Might be the church referenced in Revelations that God spits out.

Of course that will ruin the meme many of your counterparts drag out that there are 10,000,000,000 Roman Catholics out there.
You’ll find all types of shades of political persuasions in all churches. That’s why it’s vitally important to stick to the Word of God and not man’s “interpretation” of it.
I know many Catholics who are leaving the church because of the political issues this Pope is defending. I myself am a former RCC member. Apostasy is literally embedded in every church (regardless of denomination).

Really? I know many devoted RCs that voted for 0bummer, and any other Dim, because they are libs. They apparently feel that the mass cleans up anything they do wrong on a weekly basis. So they keep on doing the same old sins.
I even know a woman that attends mass daily, and has as long I’ve known her. She’s proud of her church, and is involved in it in many ways. I remember hearing of her taking time off of work to drive 40 miles to stand on an overpass and wave at the motorcade hauling then prez candidate Bill Clintoon. When I saw her at work the next day, she was so excited to say she saw him. I asked her, “Doesn’t he support abortion?” She didn’t even reply. She just stared at me for a moment, with an angry glare, and turned away.
The RCC has done an effective job of convincing people that as long as they are members, and partake of the mass, they are good to go (nomatter how ungodly their hearts are).
Except on Genesis 1-11, the Book of Jonah, the Book of Daniel, etc.

As long as Rome carries them on the membership roll, they are Roman Catholic.
Oh, and in my previous practice I had many card carrying FRoman Catholics, who were very active in there house of worship, come to me looking for oral contraceptives. (For the record, I don’t write for OCs.)
