Oh, today Catholics "make it up as they go along" while just the other day it was "Catholic have creeds, a Catechism, all sorts of written stuff as complex as legal briefs".

Obviously it's not Catholics who make it up as they go along but rather the lame brains that try to defend the doctrine of Self and Self Alone as they speed down the broad highway to their own destruction.

have a nice day

Sure they do and even 1900 years later they decide that something like the assumption of Mary should be taught as truth, so they add it to their doctrines and then demand that everyone who is Catholic believe it under threat of eternal damnation.

I always liked this saying I heard:

God has given us many pleasant inns to stop at along the road of life, but He never wants us to mistake them for home.

God is not a sugar daddy, a fairy godmother, Santa and the tooth fairy all rolled up into one. We serve HIM, not the other way around. Though we have the assurance that He is able to make all things work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose. (Rom. 8:28), it doesn't mean things will always BE good or that we won't ever suffer. Yet, that is how our faith grows - through testing and trials.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith — of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire — may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls. (I Peter 1:3-9)

“he’s not preaching against Christ”

He’s not preaching FOR Christ.

Matt 12:30 He that is not with me is AGAINST me.

Many people who are just quietly getting on with lives are not preaching against Christ. HOWEVER being FOR Christ is something active, not passive.

". . . even 1900 years later they decide that something like the assumption of Mary should be taught as truth . . ."

ROTFLOL . . .

Only someone who has never been Catholic or dumb enough to believe comics from He who shall not be named could say that.

The argument over the assumption of Mary had been going on ever since around 200 AD and it was finally affirmed as the truth so the matter was no longer debatable. That's a far cry from making things up as they go along like the Protestant and Protestant derived list :

Gambling is a sin . . .
   well not any more
Divorce is a sin . . .
   well not any more
Remarrige if you are divorced is a sin . . .
   well not any more
Murdering children in the womb is a sin . . .
well, not with The Pill (that's just Christian Liberty)
Abortion is a sin . . .
   well not any more
Tattoos are a sin . . .
   well not any more

And every individual who is in a non-Catholic Church has their own personal list of things that aren't sins as well whether it's deliberately telling lies about the Catholic Church or shacking up with their neighbor even though both they and their neighbor are married.

Sex before marriage is a sin . . .
   well not any more
Sodomy is a sin . . .
   well not any more
Drinking alchol is a sin . . .
   well not any more

and on, and on, and on as long as they feel good driving down the broad highway to their own destruction they're willing to rationalize away watever they have to in order to go along to get along with whatever the media tells them they should drool over.

And what does all that have to do with Mary and her relationship with Joseph?

The RCC did not decide for 1900 years that Mary was assumed, with absolutely ZERO evidence from Scripture for it. They made it up and then taught it long enough that people who didn’t know better believed it was true, and voila, suddenly it’s *Truth* that MUST be believed at the cost of your immortal soul.

I’m not sure what you’re trying to say.

Christians are supposed to crucify the “self”. Osteen clearly worships it.

There's absolutely ZERO in Scripture that says all of what Christ passed down to us is in Scripture and there sure isn't anything about Protestant nitwits throwing seven books of the Old Testament in the garbage can because Marty didn't like having his personal heresy contradicted.

Anyone who pretends they believe in Scripture after throwing portions of His Holy Word in the garbage can is either under a strong delusion or deliberately misrepresenting what they really believe the same way so many anti-Catholic dolts lie about having themselves once been Catholic.

Oh, and Scripture does say to keep the traditions passed down to us even in the subset of Scripture the anti-Catholic crowd selectively pretends to believe.

Nice try to ignore your own central premise that it's Catholics that make things up as they go along when confronted with a short list of what Protestant and Protestant derived delusional folks once said was sin but later, out of thin air, came up with a way to avoid admitting they were sinning.

Protestant and Protestant derived heresies are all entirely based on the same lie Eve fell for.
PERIOD

Joyce Meyer’s reported net worth does not trouble me personally. It is a sign of great success and blessings IMHO. I know she and her family and her ministry donate millions to charities. You don’t get to be where she is today by being a pauper or living in poverty. God wants us to live in abundance. So I don’t have an issue with it.
