Exept for those years of the letters of indulgence parades. That had nothing to do with reverence to the Lord. It was all about money.

>>You must be getting Catholics confused with Mormans.<<

LOL The topic was how the Catholics were concerned about not wearing the appropriate clothing for mass. NOT whether or not they have missionaries.

the rest of you post is simply an attempt to aggrandize and to that I say "you have your reward".

Go drink a beer on this New Year’s Eve and be grateful that Jesus started the church some 2,000 years ago because without the Catholic Church, there would be no Christianity.

So why have commandments at all...?

BTW Col. 2 was referring to the old law...

God’s laws aren’t ordinances of men...they’re from God...!

John 12:48 He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him—the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day.

God will judge us by his word.

Here's my answer again given you did not respond to it but applied a general answer for someone else:

No but some do make them so:

Colossians 2:

20 Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,

21 (Touch not; taste not; handle not;

22 Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men?

So frankly, I don't know why you responded they way you did.

You have a judge..., God.

You have a law, God’s word.

We all will be judged by God according to His word.

Is God being legalistic....?

All they need to do is read his words without bias.

The absurd idea that he came to bring a “new religion” is what is leading most of those that self identify as “christians” to the pit of hell.

If one can acquire the ability to read without such a bias, the truth will come through loud and clear.

John 3:

18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved

John 3:

19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved

(John 12:47-50) “ 47 And if anyone hears My words and does not believe,[i] I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world. 48 He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him—the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day. 49 For I have not spoken on My own authority; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak. 50 And I know that His command is everlasting life. Therefore, whatever I speak, just as the Father has told Me, so I speak.”

(2 Cor. 5:10-11)” 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad. 11 Knowing, therefore, the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are well known to God, and I also trust are well known in your consciences.””
