Vatican rocked by another paedophilia scandal
Euronews ^ | 25.09.2014

Scandal has rocked the Vatican for the second time in a week.

On Thursday (September 25), officials confirmed Pope Francis had sacked Bishop Livieres, head of the Paraguayan diocese of Ciudad del Este.

Livieres is suspected of protecting a priest believed to have sexually abused young people.

His dismissal followed the arrest two days earlier of former archbishop Josef Wesolowski, who is accused of paying for sex with children during his time as papal ambassador in the Dominican Republic.

Pope Francis, has vowed to take a zero-tolerance policy on clerics who abuse minors. The pontiff approved Wesolowski’s arrest and earlier this year compared child abuse to a “satanic mass”.

Wesolowski has appealed against the accusation, while Livieres has defended both himself and the priest he is suspected of protecting.

Vatican sources say the Paraguayan’s dismissal was the result of an investigation into the notoriously divisive bishop, the diocese and its seminaries.

RICO suits have been tried. I doubt they will ever be successful.

I really despise the Catholics who continue to excuse the Church for their role in the Coverup and I will never believe the cover up didn’t come from the top.

That being said, I don’t care what faith is doing the molesting - the Church and the molesters should be held accountable.

Maybe Dr. Thorne will find an article about this and post it. I don’t post such nonsense.

Ask your Dr. Thorne. He’s the one who posts this nonsense.

I am asking YOU who made the claim.

Over and over and over and over and over again it has been shown that the Catholic Church knew and covered it up.

KNEW that their people had issues and were abusing AND then sent them on their merry way to a new Church with access to Children.

So show me the SAME systemic pattern in another Church.

Btw, did you know one of those mass murders who shot up a school went to the same Church that had one of those known Pedophiles.

Perhaps putting to death some of these evil f**ks might get the attention of those thinking about engaging in it.

The better headline: Pope Actually Does Something About Priests Who Rape Children.

Pope actually does very little. This is simply damage control and window dressing.

The key to truly getting to grips with this problem lies in the seminaries. As long as homosexuals continue to be ordained, cases will always arise. That is why the Catholic Church has repeatedly stressed that men with "deep seated homosexual tendencies" should not be ordained. This was stated most recently in the pontificate of the mean, evil, do-nothing, pedophile-protector Benedict. It was received with the usual negativity from those who cry the most crocodile tears about "protecting the children".

Francis, on the other hand, when questioned on this topic made his famous "who am I to judge" comment regarding homosexuals in the priesthood when all that was necessary was a restatement of longstanding Church discipline.

"Hurrah!!" cried the non-Catholic (and some of the Catholic) universe. "We finally have an enlightned Pope who understands the world.....he's also tough on sex abuse, too, don't ya know?"

The whole issue is absolutely saturated with hypocrisy, selective outrage and faux indignation.

One of my favorite recent stories is the Child Molesting Meth Dealing Cross Dressing Priest who owned a porn video store.

He was a long time assistant and confidant to Bishop Egan who became a Cardinal.

Cardinal Egan is famous for retracting an apology. In it he said he didn’t do anything wrong as it pertains to the Scandal in Bridgeport.

The State Supreme Court ordered the release of over 12000 pages of documents that show otherwise.

Don't stop there.

.....who was appointed by the Pope, who was elected by all the Cardinals in the world, who are bishops of dioceses, which are maintained by the money of Catholics sitting in the pews, who support this stuff.

There ya go.

The religion business has always seemed to attract homosexuals. That goes for all churches and denominations.

However, the same-sex attraction thing is not in and of itself held to be "sinful" by any church. However, acting upon it used to be a sin in most churches, and it still is a sin according to Catholic Doctrine.

But this is what got the Roman Catholics in particular in trouble. Many of the hierarchy and clergy throughout the ages have struggled with same-sex attraction, but the moderns reasoned that if vows of celibacy (and indeed chastity in monastic orders) were on the books, the robes would stay firmly in place. WTF? If a homosexual and a heterosexual are both celibate, what difference does it make?* So, they reasoned with priests in short supply, why not encourage fellows who were a bit light in the loafer, but otherwise "religious," to apply to the seminary?

Alas, to make a long story interminable, the queers took over and the SHTF.

Tough Tony Bevilacqua, Archbishop of Philadelphia did explain what difference it made when he tried to clean up Philly's seminaries. He explained that homosexuality is an aberration and that the celibate homosexual is giving up acting on an an evil. A heterosexual priest is sacrificing traditional marriage and children, both good things.
Nice try, Tony.

And yet you were pleased to post the claim as though it is true...

Oh please. No one is saying the child molesting doesn’t happen everywhere.

What I am asking you to show me is the SAME OR WORSE SYSTEMIC WORLD WIDE CENTURIES OF COVER UP OF CHILD MOLESTORS by Protestants and their Hiearchy as has been done by the Pope and the Catholic Church.

Are you aware that there are far more cases of pedophilia in protesstant denominations and schools than for priests?

Would you give a reference for that information. Not saying it's right or wrong. I would just like to know where you got that information.

Thanks

I don’t think this is another scandal - it’s just the same one that’s been going on for decades.

I'm sorry but I do not see a comparison between the protestants and Catholic Church.

I mentions teachers but does not reference any church but the Catholic Church.
