Perhaps. I agree to disagree with you on our previous discussion, and wish you nothing but good will and blessings. Compared to many other discussions on FR religious threads, I think we have both maintained a polite respect for each other’s views, and for that, I thank you.

You just had to go and add this post.

1. "Perhaps" we can agree on common usage and definition of other English words? Words mean what they mean whether you or I agree with their definition or whether one of us twists a definition to suit himself.

2. The saying "agree to disagree" does not apply here; I did not agree with your conclusion. I have been posting on FR about the plain usual definition of the word "victim" which is not necessarily synomous with the word "sacrifice", a fact that should be evident with research if necessary.

3. At no time did I indicate I have a respect for anyone misappropriating the ordinary definition and/or usage of the word "victim". I merely recognized you and another poster were not going to budge from your errors.

Wow, I guess I misjudged you after all. I never suggested that you agreed with my conclusion. I meant that our thoughts are opposed to each other, and I was trying to be cordial about that. I thought you were as well. May God bless the both of us as we go on our journeys.

My, a little testy, aren’t we? If you were a Christian, you would want someone to get closer to God. The Rosary makes me feel closer to God. If you don’t believe that then that is your problem.

Thanks for your response. I currently am in the process of reading both books.

Thank you for introducing me to Dr. Scott Hahn.

Regarding the Rosary, to me it seems to be a specialized tool for a specific job, not unlike any other tool.

It seems silly to ridicule a spanner wrench, but someone might if they had no idea what a spanner wrench is or does.

Otoh, they wouldn't ridicule it if they needed one. That tool would be very valuable in that moment of need.

To me, dissing the Rosary merely shows a lack of understanding or might reveal something hidden, perhaps even a tip of the iceberg kind of thing.

Speaking only for myself, all I've read tells me I should learn how to use it.

When it comes to tools, those born under the star of the handy man understand that you just never know when you'll need that right tool for the job.
