WATCH THE MEDIA IGNORE WHAT POPE FRANCIS JUST SAID ABOUT MARRIAGE
Catholic Vote ^ | October 28, 2014 | John White

pope frank

Some Catholic blogs and news outlets are reporting this, but we’ll see about the mainstream media and the “progressive” Catholics.

They certainly seemed to think the Synod on the Family was front page news, but of course Pope Francis didn’t publicly say anything during the synod and the secularists and progressive Catholics could fabricate whatever image of Pope Francis they wanted to – and we all know what that was.

But now Pope Francis is talking about marriage, and newsflash – it’s definitely not what the New York Times and the National Catholic Reporter were hoping for. It will be interesting to see how studiously preoccupied with other events they manage to be in order to avoid reporting it.

So what are they ignoring? What did Pope Francis say that they can’t bear to allow into their carefully crafted fairytale?

His words came at an international Marian conference. As reported by CNA:

He warned against the common view in society that “you can call everything family, right?”

“What is being proposed is not marriage, it’s an association. But it’s not marriage! It’s necessary to say these things very clearly and we have to say it!” Pope Francis stressed.

He lamented that there are so many “new forms” of unions which are “totally destructive and limiting the greatness of the love of marriage.”

And…wow.

…”it’s not marriage!”…”we have to say it!”…”totally destructive”

Not mincing words, are we Your Holiness?

And gosh, this is a little problematic for the whole “Pope Francis wants to change marriage but he’s being thwarted by evil conservatives” storyline, don’t you think?

Which is why the media took a field trip today. Or maybe they panicked and quarantined themselves.

After all, the truth can be contagious.

He spells out very clearly the answer to your question in the above link. He states that there has never been such attacks on marriage as we are witnessing now. And he goes on to explain what will be the Church’s response.

...why all the mistranslations lately of what he actually says?

Oh I dunno, is almost like the media isn't on his side or something...

I see. That’s nice of your pope. But the issue for a Christian has already and always been settled from the lips of Our Lord Himself.

Why has a misunderstanding of what Jesus Christ said ever been allowed to gain foothold in the RCC so that the church leader has to issue new guidelines on how to handle “such attacks on marriage”.

Circular, evasive reasoning on the RCC’s part?

-— Why is the Pope revisiting this subject when Holy Scripture (Lord Jesus Christ Himself) has already settled it once for all time? -—

How has that approach worked for mainstream Protestantism?

Regardless, homosexual”marriage” wasn’t up for grabs at the Synod. The controversy regarded practicing homosexuals receiving communion. A minority of bishops pushed that with apparent papal approval, but they were voted down by the majority of bishops.

Evidently not, since Protestants still permit divorce and remarriage.

To voice his loyal support for what Our Lord said.

finally a little hope in this Pope.

The key to understanding Pope Francis is to avoid mainstream media coverage of anything they claim he says. Always go to the source!

See? You live on an alternate sphere than I. Communication isn't conducive because you are adapted to cultic and personal esoteric definitions of words and ideas that have no foothold in reality. Like this statement of yours.

You are mistaken. Francis is improving on Jesus Christ's words and offering modifications, not showing "loyal support" but rather his superior position of authority over the Word of God. He is seated in a place where he ought not be seated.

“Pope as Rorschach Test.” The viewer sees what the viewer wants. It reminds me of my kids.

I say, “The cereal bars are for Kathleen. They are only for Kathleen, and that is not going to change. Don’t ask, again, if you can have one. They are for Kathleen.”

The boys hear, “If you ask me an hour from now, I might give you a cereal bar.”

Don't think this is what Francis is addressing; it isn't.

But you raise a valid point, just as is the rampant adultery (and homosexuality) historically prevalent among RCs.

Not a Lutheran, not a Protestant. Born-again believer in and follower of The Lord Jesus Christ the Son of the Living God, gathering in fellowship with others of the same beliefs.
