The Great Division - Müller rips the Synod Report: "Undignified, Shameful, Completely Wrong!"
La Repubblica via Rorate Caeli ^ | Oct. 14 2014

Posted on 10/14/2014 6:05:06 PM PDT by Petrosius

Since the workings of the Synod still remain, for the first time in the 2,000-year-long history of councils and synods, completely censored, and the Fathers who want to can only freely express their opinion through leaks, Cardinal Gerhard Müller, Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF), impelled by his duty, says what needs to be said - and then what he said is leaked, to bypass the censorship.

Thank you, Your Eminence, for expressing what the true sensus catholicus feels regarding the most embarrassing document in all of Catholic history:

From La Repubblica (excerpts):
VATICAN CITY [October 14, by Orazio la Rocca] - "Undignified, Shameful, Completely Wrong." An unappealable condemnation of the relatio on the first week of the synodal works on the family (the Relatio post disceptationem) read yesterday before pope Francis by Hungarian Cardinal Peter Erdo. Who pronounced this, in his intervention at one of the circuli minores (the [language-based small] commissions), was not just "any" Synodal Father, but the guardian of the orthodoxy of the Catholic Faith, German Cardinal Gerhard Müller, Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (the former Holy Office), raised in the past few days to the leading voice of those who, in the Synod, question the announced overtures to remarried divorcees, civil unions, cohabitation, homosexual couples.

The same Cardinal who, in the course of the past week, publicly complained several times of a supposed censorial limitation of the Vatican regarding those speakers who spoke in defense of traditional Catholic doctrine, with special reference to the indissolubility of marriage. Positions that Müller and other 4 Cardinals had already expressed in a book published on the eve of the Synod, but that in the past few days have also been reaffirmed in the full Synodal meeting, finding however - in the opinion on Müller himself - a very limited reception in the Relatio read by Cardinal Erdo. From this, [came] the raising of stakes by the Prefect of the former Holy Office, who, in his intervention at the circuli minores, severely criticized in particular the chapters of the relation dedicated to openings in the issue of homosexual couples, cohabitation, sacraments to the remarried divorcees, expressing all his "disappointment for an undignified and shameful report."

...But in the first day of work of the circuli minores, Müller was not the only one to take his distance from the "middle-term" document. Though in more contained tones, also Cardinal Fernanrdo Filoni, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples [Propaganda Fide], displayed perplexity. "There was some surprise - the cardinal explained - within the circolo minore reading the first reactions of the media to the 'Relatio post disceptationem' published yesterday: and also some perplexities on what was in fact contained in it, as if the Pope had said it, as if the Synod had decided it, and this is not true. It is a working document where we were to say our points of views, to be conveyed to the Synod Secretariat."

what’s it all mean to us non-Latin speaking “regular” Catholics?

Does this mean that the communist party has finally taken over the RCC?

It means that, as at Vatican II, a small minority is trying to use the control of information and the drafting process to advance their agenda. Unlike at Vatican II, however, there is an immediate, strong and vocal opposition.

Everyone remember: this relatio is just a working draft. Nothing, as of yet, has been approved.

Who knows? More - who cares? It is an interim report - probably hijacked by a gay mafiosi in the Curia. It has no weight, no moment - just blather by queer.

It means that this statement is a non-Magisterial working paper for use only in the early stages of this synod, which itself is only a preliminary synod with a few bishops to next years main synod which at which almost all the bishops will attend. It is NOT a final declaration, only some of the questions that particular bishops have asked. You can be sure that many other bishops will weigh in before this is all said and done, The Polish bishops and others have already come out in strong disagreement. There’s a long way to go on this. People need to stay of the ledge and stay calm.

Well, okay then. No one said the pope had the power of impeccability.

Completely correct. Nor does he exercise infallibility in his ordinary statements or day to day governance. Many non-Catholics often overstate what the Catholic Church teaches about the pope.

While it’s true that this document has zero magisterial importance at this point, it is likewise true that it has huge importance with regard to public perception (which itself is of significant importance) and assessing the “signs of the times.”

The battle lines are being drawn even as we speak. The time is quickly approaching when all Catholics will have to choose sides and publicly declare whether their allegiance is to Christ, or to common public opinion.

Friendships and family ties will be severely strained, perhaps to the breaking point. Pray and then pray some more for wisdom, courage, strength, and above all, charity. Then make your choice and prepare for the long battle ahead.

Just a slight crack in the door, just enough for a toe hold, just push the door open a little wider, ....... and then at some point, “queers rule”!

It's both simple and difficult, I choose to follow the Lord Jesus Christ. Family, friends, jobs, "leaders" and all others are only servants to the one true Lord and Savior. He knows what is in our hearts. Just as we can lie to everyone but ourselves as to our motives and actions. I don't hate homosexuals, but I hate their recruiting of boys in our parish by homosexual predators dressed as priests. I'm sure there is a special place in hell for those that aided and abetted these crimes. The divorce issue is tough but with reconciliation and prayer even that issue can be dealt with.

I'm not an expert, far from it. I am only good at sinning and trying to find my way back to the Lord. But I still have issues with the church on several things I realize that I don't have a problem with the church, but with men running certain aspects of the church. So I must try to just do what I can to muddle through.

The mass to me has become on long musical with everything being sung including the Lord's prayer. At some services I'm surprised I'm not asked to dance like a monkey instead of just listening to a nice homily after 2 readings and some simple prayers. It's like a casting call for the Holy version of "Glee".

I'm a fallen Catholic that has just returned to the church and know that my time on earth is short. I want to be one with the Lord and will jump through the hoops I suppose but if I pass and have a funeral mass, I'd like to have a simple service not a Broadway musical.

Credo in Deum Patrem omnipotentem;
Creatorem caeli et terrae.

Et in Jesum Christum,
Filium eius unicum, Dominum nostrum;
qui conceptus est
de Spiritu Sancto,
natus ex Maria virgine;
passus sub Pontio Pilato,
crucifixus, mortuus, et sepultus;
descendit ad inferos;
tertia die resurrexit a mortuis;
ascendit ad caelos;
sedet ad dexteram Dei Patris omnipotentis;
inde venturus est
iudicare vivos et mortuos.

Credo in Spiritum Sanctum;
sanctam ecclesiam catholicam;
sanctorum communionem;
remissionem peccatorum;
carnis resurrectionem;
vitam aeternam. Amen.

In English:

I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ,
his only Son, our Lord.
He was conceived
by the power of the Holy Spirit,
and born of the Virgin Mary,
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
He descended into hell.
On the third day he rose again;
he ascended into heaven,
he is seated at the right hand of the Father,
he will come again
to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy Catholic church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen

Won't matter. The Pope decides, and he appears to be the instigator of the strange opinions on display.

Yes. Not as completely as they have taken over the Democrat party. But yes.
