Remember the sci-fi thriller GATTACA? For those who never saw the film and/or eschewed all pop culture in the late 90’s for some reason, it was a popular movie that came out in 1997 about genetically modified human beings. Now some literally genetically modified human babies born that same year are entering their senior year of high school.
The first successful transfer of genetic material for this purpose was published in a U.S. medical journal in 1997 and then later cited in a Human Reproduction publication in 2001. Scientists injected 30 embryos in all with a third person’s genetic material. The children who have been produced by this method actually have extra snippets of mitochondrial DNA, or mtDNA, from two mothers – meaning these babies technically have three parents...
Mixing the genetic material from three people makes me uneasy for reasons that I cannot adequately express in words.
This is going to lead to a clone of Ricardo Montalban becoming a dictator. At least we’ll have a dictator with a cool, suave accent.
Jesus was the seed of a woman, not of a man, and because this was fulfilled exactly as stated, then we need to ask the question, who (and) what is ‘thy seed’ of the serpent?

Wait, these children were modified to be genetically superior, but are only graduating high school at an average pace? Not impressed.
Maybe the capabilities of scientists to meddle with DNA against the natural order of the LORD is overstated.
We are faster, stronger, and more intelligent than you, in time you will welcome our dominance and submit willingly.
And once you do that to us Texans, just wait until you see our genetically modified Texan kids.

I have seen no evidence that the modifications to these children were intended to make them “superior” in some way, or that, especially back then, we even had a clue on what modifications would accomplish this.
In fact, we don’t even know how to define “superior,” in this sense, except insofar as an ability to weed out genetic diseases.
There is biblical evidence to suggest that Satan will try to counterfeit the virgin birth of Jesus (and Jesus miracles) through the Anti-Christ. I can think of no better way than a genetically engineered baby (without father) that is Satanically inspired.

Yeah, I understand, it’s a little unsettling, but it isn’t the kids’ fault somebody decided to mess with their genomes. I’m praying for a normal, happy life for all of them, but if it isn’t, and they decide they want to throttle the people presumptuous enough to try this, I wouldn’t vote to convict.

It certainly seems something strange and outside of God’s reproductive scheme for mankind went on before the flood… and it would seem that it was imperative for God to destroy the world before it became so ‘contaminated’ that there would eventually be nobody alive who didn’t have some genetic trace to the ‘Nephilim’. Clearly God couldn’t allow that to happen since that would eventually also include the mother of the Messiah which God knew would come to be the saviour. However, I don’t think that Matthew 24:37 has anything to do with genetic manipulation (But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.) I think that this just has to do with the state of the world (violent), the fact that scoffers and non-believers will abound and it also seems to carry a comparison to people hearing truth and knowing what they should be doing spiritually… but rejecting it. Remember that Noah preached that ‘the flood was coming’ for one hundred years before it actually happened… and when it did, it came so quickly that mankind was wiped out. And when Christ returns to claim his own, it will all be over before anyone even knows what happened…in fact, it will be even faster than the rains coming.
