Wow! That’s your response? To directly contradict scripture?

Then, y’all need to back up your statements. Just because a man said it does not make it right. What does the Bible say? Seems like that is a problem for some.

Who are “YOU” to say that the Catholic Church that interpreted, and sorted out the books in Scripture which by far is the profoundest of all authority is wrong and you are right? Or all the great theologians of the world from Augustine to Aquinas to Neman to Benedict XVI are all wrong. By what authority do you say this? This authority was given to Peter and his successors not to “you” anymore than to “me” or David Koresh! That is the beginning and end of the debate. To His Church, “whatsoever thou shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven..”

Your scriptural citations are from Paul, who was hardly a street theologian. However, with the exception of Mark, Luke, and the writer of Hebrews, all of the writers of the NT either lived with Christ for 3 years or had (self-proclaimed) surpassed everyone else in learning and had a vision of Christ. Mark is believed to be the Secretary of Peter, and probably was one of the 72. Luke was a doctor and traveled with Paul. This leaves the writer of Hebrews, who at a minimum was well versed in Scripture. Given the expense that one must go through to get a copy of Scripture prior the development of the printing press, I doubt the writer of Hebrews was a street theologian.

>>Then please refrain from ever citing Jerome<<

Please show where I have ever cited Jerome. Otherwise stop with the generalizing assumptions.

Other then that your post contains no infallible source that shows the apostles taught the assumption of Mary. If Mary was resurrected after Jesus ascention how many ressurections are there? What did Jesus say the first resurrection was? Did He forget about the ressurection of Mary?

David Koresh and others were no more Christians than a muslim is. A Christian would not have done those things just like Jim Jones/Manson. They tried to be Jesus to their followers and drugs were used to keep them in line.

Yeah. I’ve been here longer than several of the most vocal members of that particular club. So I don’t particularly care whether I’m welcome here or not.

Are you perfect? Neither were they. Y’all seem to put your trust in men instead of Jesus. I trust His Word, not men

As the stench grows so does the feeling that the Catholic conservative is no longer welcome here.

Conservative Catholics?

Is there such a thing?

You are missing point. David Koresh interprets Scriputure as did Jim Jones, as does Al Sharpton, Rev. Moon, Rick Warren, Joel Osteen, Billy Graham, Rev. Jeremiah Wright. They all believe “their” version and “their” interpretation of Scripture is valid. The question at the beginning and ends comes down to one question. It’s called Petrine Authority. There are enough and more books to fill libraries on this subject. Some of the foremost Protestant theologians who wrote, taught, and preached to their congregations admitted to their errors and have converted to Catholicism. Don’t take my word for it. Consult Cardinal Henry Newman’s work, America’s leading Lutheran theologian, Richard Neuhaus, or Francis Beckwith, the the president of the Evangelical Theological Society, an association of 4,300 Protestant theologians, who resigned his position and joined the Roman Catholic Church. Others include Sen. Sam Brownback (R-Kan.), theologian Scott Hahn.

Oh.

For the record, the author is a genuine former RC priest.

“Your” interpretation against the Catholic Church and all its theologians including preeminent Protestant scholars and theologians who converted to the Catholic Church. You argue the stuff of street preachers like Joel Osteen.

Hey, when they start comparing you to the likes of Koresh, chalk it up as a win.

It means they have nothing to use in an actual debate, so since they can’t contest the message, they go after the messenger.

Trying to discredit your opponent is used by the side that’s losing badly.
