The other ditch is elitism, legalism. Gothard followers spend their days and nights judging each others dress, speech, appearance, behavior. They have no time for God.
Imagine a bunch of Pharisees surrounded by a broken world, pointing bony fingers of condemnation at their little small insular world of fellow Pharisees. Ridiculous.
The movement perpetrates, accepts, and condones sexual, emotional abuse of women by those in authority. Grace means accepting your abuse.
