Veto I hear that ABC going shutter Live Well network in January sadly to report

That is the WORST news I've had all year. Luckily, there's a lot of Steven and Chris on YouTube:) But just slices of it == maybe they will have more online after ABC axes them.

Reading Emily Post from the 40's and 50's would leave no doubt as to how far we have fallen from grace. The world is a sadder place for it. I'm in my mid 60's and was listening to a couple planning their wedding with a mid 50's theme in mind. Comments were made that everyday America really was not like it was portrayed in movies and TV. I assured the young people it was most assuradly like that. American citizens were polite, gracious and well dressed. The rest of the world wanted to be like us.

I miss the America of my youth.

Going to go watch Affair to Remember, the 50's version.

Thank you for that quote from Phillipians. So true and so needed in todays world.

It’d be interesting to see a thread here where we all had to respond in the same graceful manner. I know I’m guilty of letting my frustrations with unfolding events manifest in my replies sometimes.

Good idea.

The level of discourse would improve if those of us who were so inclined simply elevated the quality of our participation, perhaps gently chiding those who persisted in using profanity, of even profane euphemisms.

NYer, I hope you will ping me every time you post somethng from Anthony Esolen. He's one of the most sound, sane, and sensible men writing today. It improves you brain just to see how he puts together sentences.

I think of the word "civilized". And "mensch".

I not sure I think what going happen ABC sub channel probably add those shows their sub channel official Live Well network won’t be on the air

I get this feeling maybe Steven and Chris would “landed” on the feet go Cozi TV which their own lifestyle shows

I get movies on DVD from my library. Free! They have a lot of good movies in the system and graciously schlep them around from branch to branch on request. They seem to be reasonably careful about not buying anything too awfully vulgar. . They have TV series as well. And CDs, if you have an urge to hear Mahler or Sinatra. Or Bill Evans.

My fave discovery there was “Ballets Russes” on DVD, a very charming documentary on the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo, including but not limited to interviews with some of the original dancers who were still dancing in their late eighties. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ballets_Russes_(documentary)

Anyway, point is, had I not been browsing through the library stacks, I would never have known about this charming DVD. I had seen the Ballet Russe as a very little girl and LOVED it. You cannot imagine how full my heart was watching it again.
