Islamic State jihadists who took over large areas of northern Iraq overnight have forced thousands of Christians to flee and occupied churches, removing crosses and destroying manuscripts, Chaldean Patriarch Louis Sako has said. “(The Christians) have fled with nothing but their clothes, some of them on foot, to reach the Kurdistan region,” Patriarch Sako told AFP.

Regardless of how the media will spin his comments it is George Bush's obligation to bring the plight of these poor people to the world's attention.

Its his obligation.

How true, the dying of the Christian side of that country that goes way back to the days of the disciples of Jesus.

This is what happens when you disarm civilized people. Uncivilized people with guns can take over. I’m not calling the Islamists uncivilized. Their actions are speaking louder than anything I can say.

My son didn’t die there but others did. Why? So the country could be taken over by lunatics and savages. What a waste of $, time and lives...a complete waste. Its as though liberals lead by Barry cant get enough of trampling on the blood of their own countrymen. I think for people like that only blight and darkness awaits them.

Why should he?

He is still convinced that Islam is a ROP and apparently so are all those who enthusiastically applauded him that evening for making that brainless statement.

They never seem to get that besides committing crimes against God and humanity with this bloody purge of Christians, the ISIS islamics are crippling their economy even more than before. They are now in worse shape than even Egypt was last year, when the tourists stopped coming because of the wars with the Muslim Brotherhood.

Now Jonas Tomb and hundreds of other ireplacable artifacts are ruined or gone. Now there is even less reason for archeologists, historians, religious pilgrims to come to that part of the world. They don’t seem to have given any thought to how the remaining citizens will be sustained. Not everbody can or would grow opium poppies.

No doubt things are very bad for Christians in Iraq. The ISIL jihadists are particularly viscous, bizarre and cruel. However despite the gains they are making in poorly defended areas, they very well may be in a very vulnerable position. Simply put they are overextended. Their offensive has stalled outside of Baghdad, the Kurds are resisting them on their flanks and Syrians, Hezbollah and Lebanese military are harassing their rear. The Russians, who are the traditional protectors of Christians in the lands of the former Ottoman empire are not only aiding the Syrians but are also providing the military and logistical support that is necessary if an Iraqi counterattack is to be successful. Many of the ISIL jihadists are from Chechnya. The Russians would prefer to have them slaughtered in Iraq before they return to Russia and cause mayhem.

Partially. Bush owns some responsibility as well. We wouldn't have been at this point had the Ba'athists remained in power in Iraq. Invading and overthrowing them was the worst we could've ever done "for" the Iraqis.

Plus also if there is any effort to go after Israel by ISIS, Israel can and will hand them their (ISIS) rear ends.

Dubya’s invasion of Iraq, although with good intentions, was a mistake.

We could had overthrown Saddam and his sons, allow one of the Ba’athist Generals to become President. Today, Iraq would be more like Egypt.
