The terminal phrase of many prayers, equivalent to "eternal" or "everlasting." In the doxology of the Gloria Patria it means that God, who has always existed, is now being praised by a human being who hopes to continue praising God forever in heaven.

Your note made me aware of a concept that needs to be expressed verbally and defined. It is analogous to irony, but different.

Corny is silly.
"Irony" is the expression of one's meaning by using language that normally signifies the opposite, typically for humorous or emphatic effect. (from Google.)

They don't SEEM to have anything to do with each other. OPPOSITES, maybe; analogous, don't believe so.

I didn’t mean that “corny” and “irony” are analogous. I meant that there is a third thing that is analogous to irony, but different, which can appear to some people to be corny.

I don’t think much of Google’s definition. It looks as though it were written by someone who confuses sarcasm with irony.
