High Court Won't Hear Photog's Gay Wedding Appeal

The U.S. Supreme Court won't hear a case involving a photography company's refusal to shoot a gay commitment ceremony.

The owners of New Mexico-based Elane Photography, owned by Elaine and Jonathan Huguenin, declined the job due to their religious beliefs.

The Huguenins said they would "gladly serve gays and lesbians" by taking portraits. But photographing same-sex marriages or commitment ceremonies would "require them to create expression conveying messages that conflict with their religious beliefs," according to their petition to the court.

We’re totally screwed.

I guess you can no longer own any kind of a business in this country where your religion might conflict with the gay mafia.

That pretty much leaves out the ones we’ve already heard about connected to weddings (florist, wedding cake baker, photographer), along with caterer; wedding and wedding reception furniture and decor supplier; wedding dress/bridesmaid dress/tuxedo rental/retail, limo rental, etc.

The God-fearing need not apply.

“An unjust law is no law at all”
- St. Augustine

“An unjust law is no law at all”
- St. Thomas Aquinas

“One has a moral responsibility to disobey unjust laws.”
- Henry David Thoreau

The Supreme Court has lost its legitimacy, as has any portion of FedGov or StateGov attempting to enforce laws of this form. We have no moral duty to obey such laws or commands from the courts. We have no moral duty to deal with the gay mafia in good faith. Whether it is accepting the commission and then cancelling at the last minute due to an unforeseen personal difficulty, delivering a product that is unusable, or otherwise weaseling out of the demand for service, I would not fault any decent person who failed to serve these entitled gay activists and used deception in that process.

The photographers, unlike the “cake bakers”, are being told by the “legal” system that they must ATTEND the event.

THAT is too far.

The Supreme Court lost ANY remaining legitimacy it had when it refused to correct the mistakes of this case.

No one should be FORCED TO ATTEND a sodomite “wedding” AGAINST THEIR WILL.

Now? See Roe v. Wade. The SOCTUS has been out of control for some time.

I'm impressed that it has held on to its "legitimacy" for this long.

So those signs that say “we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason” are illegal?

Thank you for posting this, it has reminded me how important it is for the pastor and his group to finish working on the part of our proposed Constitution that deals with marriage is restricted to one, naturally born male and one naturally born female...

I am emailing this link to him in hopes that he will get some ideas from some of the other replies to your post.

Thanks again.

You’re very welcome. I’ll pray for your church’s efforts. I’m thinking that somehow keeping some extra money when doing taxes, say about $100 from claiming an exemption that doesn’t otherwise exist, but then clearly writing on the form “tax protest” and saying why the money was withheld(there are a quite a lot of faith-related reasons these days) and showing it was donated a Christian organization would send a message that would be taken seriously. If the IRS does anything, that would be a story generating attention in at least the Christian part of America.

1. “I’m a muzzie and my truck company wants me to drive BOOZE around..!”

Supremes = “You must make reasonable accommodation for his faith...”

2. “I’m a Christian and Liberace wants me to take photos of what he sez is a ‘marriage’...!”

Supremes = “You MUST take photos of his gay marriage...”

Suppose the photographer did the wedding, and at the same time dispensed tracts to attendees?

If I were a position to hire employees, I'd NEVER hire anyone who set off my gaydar, even just a little.

They are nothing but trouble looking for a place to happen.

Sure. I’ll photograph your Gay ceremony.

That has distinct possibilities! I’m guessing that the tracts would deal with homosexuality as an abomination. Of course, you would EXPECT a GAY printer to produce them.

How do you think that would work out;-)?
