A president struggling in the polls at home recently traveled to the Vatican. He was hoping that a photo with the wildly popular Pope Francis might boost his dismal approval ratings. But because the president had been championing historic LGBT legislation to appeal to his base, some wondered if the pope would actually use their meeting to chastise the president — reminding him how the policies he favors are out of sync with church teachings.
Barack Obama, right? No — the president was Nigeria’s embattled leader, President Goodluck Jonathan.
As we all know, the media reported, analyzed, critiqued, conjectured and speculated on every aspect of President Obama’s meeting with Pope Francis, including whether or not the two men would discuss same-sex marriage and other LGBT rights in the United States. But five days earlier, with little attention or fanfare, Pope Francis received Mr. Jonathan, fresh off the president signing a bill criminalizing homosexuality in Nigeria.
According to the law, enacted in January, any citizen who enters into a union with a person of the same sex faces a 14-year prison sentence. Gay Nigerians who simply assemble with like-minded others could also face jail time. Mr. Jonathan is facing a tough re-election battle next year, and the law was widely seen as an effort to shore up support among conservative Nigerians. Since its enactment, journalists have documented frightening stories of violence committed against gay men.
Catholic bishops in Nigeria, in a letter to Mr. Jonathan, heralded the new law as “courageous” and “a clear indication of the ability of our great country to stand shoulders high in the protection of our Nigerian and African most valued cultures of the institution of marriage.”
They weren’t the only religious leaders happy with a stepping-up of repression against gay Africans...

Does anyone know what percentage of American journalists are gay? It seems that every day our local newspaper has a gay story on the front page, complete with a big photo, leaving the impression that, now, the whole world is gay. It is far from true but it is intimidating. I guess we will see whether the Pope will be intimidated.
Because those who are not followers of Christ have closed eyes and ears, they do not know true love. Unfortunately the media is run by Satan followers and rarely do you see the love of God portrayed in truth. One of the first things a parent teaches a child is not to touch anything that is hot, not to put small objects in their mouths, and not to go into the street. That is love.
Progressives will never be satisfied until everyone believes the same way they do. The Catholic church’s two mellenia old tradition of marriage is of no consequence.
Imagine a hell where you can't let your child go to the bathroom alone at church...
Imagine being hesitant to drop your child off for Sunday School because he's the first one to arrive and alone in the classroom.
Image he comes home from Church camp shaking and crying and won't talk to you about the the priest taught that day?
That hell is upon us.
The 2 percenters can only increase their ranks if they can force YOU to promote and endorse their deviant behavior.
The behavior IS “deviant” as confirmed by:
1) The plumbing doesn’t work,
2) There is no natural purpose for the behavior.
3) 98% are NOT afflicted with this UNNATURAL desire.
If they can force YOU to promote and endorse their deviant behavior, they can more easily VICTIMIZE YOUR CHILDREN, when they are most vulnerable and their natural desires have not yet developed.

I am more cynical than you are. I think Progressives are ultimately after getting societal acceptance of actual execution of those who think different than they do. Once they get rid of all of us, they will turn on each other. Of course, before that time, many of them will be gone from the war all of this is going to cause when their intolerance becomes unbearable for society. A look back in history shows the consequences of what happens when truth become lie and good becomes evil.

Those who have children know exactly what you are talking about. This kind of environment has existed for sometime now and not just in church..It is prevalent in the neighborhood, in the park and anywhere children gather..and, most people do not feel comfortable about school. It is sad when you have to think twice and do research on who will be conducting your child’s Bible School before you decide whether to enroll for this year.

Misleading title. Pope Francis’ views on homosexuality and all other social doctrine of the church are Catholic Church positions. There will be no homosexual “marriage”, there will be abortion, there will be no women ordaination. The sooner these digbat liberals realize the Pope is a Catholic the better off they’ll be.
I agree there are those on the left that would encourage or condone violence to get what they want.
All gay journalists should be up front about their homosexuality when such articles are printed. Don’t ask, don’t tell shouldn’t just be “bad policy” for the military.
Americans deserve to know if a reporter is pushing the homosexual agenda for personal behavioral reasons or not.
Anderson Pooper was closeted for years (and swooning women shed a tear when he came out as a popper huffing faggot).
