I won’t sing Amazing Grace. Study the words....are they Catholic?

We agree on this. Not to mention that for some reason when I hear this song it drives me bonkers. Maybe it’s because it is Protestant AND it’s been overplayed like a popular song on the Top 10 Chart is overplayed on the radio.

That is so cool. Where are you located? What time is mass? There are so many great hymns, wonderful lyrics, great musical compositions. Yearn yearn.

The Fullerton First Methodist Church is in Fullerton, Calif. on the corner of Commonwealth and Pomona, a couple of blocks west of downtown Fullerton. We have one service, which is at 10 AM on Sunday morning.

It is a beloved hymm about repentence and salvation in the Lord Jesus.

I do not view it as a “Catholic” or a “Protestant” hymm, just a “Christian” hymm.

I admire the very best of both chants and hymms from the rich history of Christian music.

If the Protestant hymn reflects heresy rather than Catholic doctrine, then it’s not a hymn that Catholics should praise or sing.

.....And I stand by what I had posted in post number 45.

The question I have is WHY the attack on a beautiful CHRISTIAN hymm?

Another question I have is, why are you worried by what I like or sing as a Christian and a Catholic?

If it gives GLORY to God, that is all that it matters.

Case is closed.

Funny, you take issue with my calling it protestant but not Salvation. Regardless, it teaches heresy. It doesn’t surprise me that it is sung at NO masses and those that attend NO masses see no issue with it.

If you like singing a song that teaches heresy, go right ahead.
