I was in the USAF in the 50’s which, I do believe, was a little before your time.

I was USAF from 67 to 87. They dragged me kicking and screaming to Vietnam. I hated every minute of it, but I was there.

I started my engineering education in 1960 straight after my discharge from the USAF, but I remember how the draft affected many students in the ensuing years.

I thanked God that I did not have to go through the heartbreak that you and they did. I stayed far away from ROTC and anything military. Four years were enough for me.
