Creative Minority Report ^ | 4/30/13 | Matthew Archbold

In a discussion about an NBA player coming out as gay, ESPN commentator Chris Broussard said on the air that he's a follower of Jesus Christ and believes that homosexuality is against God’s law.

“I’m a Christian,” he stated. “I don’t agree with homosexuality. I think it’s a sin. I think all sex outside of marriage between a man and a woman is [sin].”

Today, ESPN issued sort of an apology, saying:

“We regret that a respectful discussion of personal viewpoints became a distraction from today’s news. ESPN is fully committed to diversity and welcomes Jason Collins’ announcement.”

The LGBT lobby has no interest in genuine equality.

None.

ESPN has always been left wing, but they’ve gone into MSNBC territory with Obama in office...

Rece Davis is a Christian. I wonder what he would say if asked. Lou Holtz is Catholic and a very outspoken Catholic at that. I wonder what he would have to say if asked. I don’t know about Mark May, but I get the feeling that he is a Christian as well.

All black Fox sports writers are anti-white. Whitlock, for example, bitches about the lack of blacks in baseball and coaching..like he doesn’t know that blacks make up a majority of the NFL and NBA.

Broussard set himself nicely that ESPN could not fire him, even though it’s a pro-obama network. Every effing’ week, obama is a headliner on their pages. They wish they could get rid of Broussard but Broussard will likely sue the network for discrimination.

espn has a LOT to apologize for over the years. This incident isn’t one of them, however.

How about "ESPN is fully committed to diversity and welcomes Chris Broussard's viewpoint.”

That FoxSports article was awful. There were some decent comments that followed (along with some dreadful ones).

The author of the article accused Christians of cherry-picking verses. She used a couple of verses on love to chastise Christians who speak out against homosexuality all the while ignoring the verses which DIRECTLY speak of homosexuality and condemn it. Isn't that cherry-picking verses?

I see what you were referring to. Good grief. Fox Sports is now engaged in Theology.

Religious leaders have been conspicuously silent.,

I haven't heard anything yet either. Interesting. I wonder what Cardinal Dolan thinks.....or maybe I don't.

Is anybody in Freeper Land in a position to offer Mr. Broussard his next job?

Let’s all do our part to stand with this Christian and stand with him.

It is simple to go to ESPN and search for him and get his email.

SEND HIM AN EMAIL. LET HIM SEE HE DOES NOT STAND ALONE STANDING UP FOR THE WORD OF GOD AND JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD.
