As Vatican Leader Pope Benedict Never Had A Chance
http://www.foxnews.com/ ^ | February 11, 2013 | John Moody

He never had a chance. From the moment he appeared on the balcony of St. Peter’s on April 19, 2005, to greet the faithful, Benedict XVI faced an insurmountable problem: He was not John Paul II. Benedict’s decision to resign the papacy is being blamed on his age – nearly 86 – and his health – never robust. He might just as well have been diagnosed with a broken papal heart.

The leftists are gleeful, pronouncing it “quite clear” that Benedict participated in abuse cover-ups, and claiming it best for the children.

They’re just repeating what they heard, and pretending they thought of it themselves....

How sad. The Church is riddled with Vatican II influenced leftwingers and homosexuals. First the Jesuits, then the nuns. Can’t blame him for losing heart.

This article is nonsense. It's written by someone obsessed with our current celebrity worshipping culture. If you're not 'cool' you're a failure in his eyes. Poor Benedict...he never got to sit at tye cool kids table at lunch like JP2 did!

I believe that Pope Benedict had a more profound impact (for good) on the Church than anyone else for the last 100 years. As theologian and professor, Cardinal and Pope.

My pastor said at Mass this morning that our retired Bishop, who is also 85 years old, had phoned him today and said that he was happy for Pope Benedict. He said that people who aren’t really old have no idea how hard it is just living each day, and that when one is in a position of responsibility, there is no letup in the workload, no diminution in the expectations, no matter how old.

I hope Pope Benedict is not catastrophically ill, but will get to enjoy some rest!

PBVI used to Ghost Write PJPII encyclicals His Crowds on a weekly basis Outdrew JPJII.

He was the Intellectual Heavyweight of the Church for the last quarter of a century.

Wow, this writer shows no understanding of the significance of Pope Benedict’s reputation as a great theologian.

Much of JPIIs work on Faith and Reason, in fact was done by Benedict.

The writer seems to think that being Pope is a political popularity contest, obviously written through the lense of a secularist.

Journalism is dead in this country.

The below illustration is what’s wrong with tbe Church, not Benedict.

I was just watching Susan Malveaux on CNN, the morning news anchor. Discussing the Pope’s resignation she said “I am a Roman Catholic myself, and whether you disagree with the church’s teachings of not, most Catholics hold the Pope in high regard”. She then cuts away and shows one interview in front of St. Patrick’s Cathedral in NYC. Some little dingbat liberal girl being interviewed saying she hopes the new Pope will get with the times and be able to “relate” to young people.

So from pro-abortion “catholic” Malveaux to this little Obama supporter, they are they what’s wrong with the Catholic Church. Please quit calling yourself Catholic if you can’t abide by the teachings of the Church. End of story.

Yet, B16 despite the workload, was able to write 3 best selling books on the life and times of Jesus. I have his most recent edition about his infancy. Yet I should have paid more attention when he said that that would be his last book he would write.

Plus three best selling books about the life and times of Jesus in his own right.

It is said that B16 does love cats and had kept one. Well now he can rest and enjoy having cats around him again.

Summorum Pontificum was a huge historic accomplishment that required an almost superhuman fight against the entrenched liberal interests in the Church.

The Anglican Ordinariate, likewise, an almost miraculous undertaking and took a huge amount of vision and guts. Probably the most historically significant response to the Reformation since the Council of Trent.

This author is crazy. Benedict’s accomplishments in this short time have been stunning.

What a complete farce of an article.

True, he isn’t well liked but he cleaned the Augean stable with alacrity and speed.

He put in place cardinals who are actually, gasp, steeped in fidelity, obedience and courage.

I haven’t read the “Jesus of Nazareth” books, but I have the collections of his talks on the Apostles, the Church Fathers, and so on.

The people who are running him down now are the same people who wouldn’t like any Pope, simply because the Pope is Catholic. Nertz to them.
