Hello fellow free republicans! I've been reading more and more online about how Atheists have started a movement to have Atheistic Churches the way doctrinal/theological religions do. Regardless of where you stand it's certainly a thought-provoking movement seeing as Atheism has long been an intellectual perspective of DOUBT in any religion. But I found an interesting video on youtube/cleantv.com about it. It's only 3 minutes so it is well worth your time. So check it out! I'm interested to see what others think about atheistic movements in our culture.

Old religion... there were two trees in the garden of Eden. Anyone with half a brain cell could figure out which tree the self professed knowers of absolutely the unkown worship. I know, I used to be an aetheist.. then I grew up and understand that at least I can humbly admit I know, that I do not.
I went to an old, stately looking church in Concord, MA a year or two ago. It was a craft show or something, and I went with my wife.
What I saw there really startled me, and, well...horrified isn’t really the right word, but...I had never been in a church like that before.
It LOOKED like a church...had all the trappings of a church, had posters all over the place indicating a lot of interaction and engagement of youth, but...it wasn’t what it appeared.
My wife was looking at jewelry and crafts, so I was perusing the posters on the wall, and there was one, a list of guiding principles, bigger than the rest, aimed at kids and one of the numbered principles said: “Don’t let anyone tell you what is right and what is wrong. You are free to decide, it is your own personal decision.”
I stood there for a long time looking at that and wondering about it. Don’t let anyone tell you what is right and what is wrong? A “principle” aimed at kids?
As I started really reading stuff, these people didn’t believe in God. They believed in sunshine, flowers. trees and feeling good as God.
I still cannot believe it. Now, I know God is in all of those things, but these people excised God cleanly out of it. It was a real shock to see that.
It was a Unitarian church.
Worldwide Atheism is required for worldwide communism.
The democratic republic set up here by the Founding Fathers requires Godly people.

Exactly! I would contend that true atheism doesn’t exist, as worship is integral to our identity as humans. Those who do not believe in a divinity that teaches humanity the difference between right and wrong, do one of two things.
A)They worship themselves,dictating that if they desire it, it cannot be wrong. They are only accountable to themselves, because they are the center of the universe.
B)They worship another human. You could apply this to most Democrats and loyal Norks.

Secular Humanism is even more openly religious than Marxism. The first Humanist Manifesto described the agenda of "religious" Humanists.

It’s an interesting little wrinkle in their strategies. On the one hand, many atheists are quite the mockers of religion and its trappings, imagining that they are far too intelligent to be seduced by such pageantry. Yet, one of the express purposes of the Atheist churches is to mimic the effects of the religious rituals that they view as silly and superstitious. They want to try to obtain the benefits of religion without giving up their high horse attitudes on the matter.
They’ve also been contending that religions are detrimental and not a benefit to society and communities. Yet, if that were true, then there would be no sense in Atheists trying to mimic any of the habits of the religious in order to build up their community. So it seems to betray the hidden truth that their atheism has left at least some void in their lives, even if they are not willing yet to admit that the void is a God-shaped one.

That particular Scripture has been on my mind all afternoon. I went to town to do some shopping (town happens to be Lynchburg, VA, where Thomas Road Church is based). Folks who go to that church often have "Not I, But Christ" decals on their vehicles.
Well, I saw a car with a decal that said, "Not I, NOT CHRIST, but Mother Earth." I should probably be unshockable by now, but seeing that was like a kick in the stomach....it actually made me feel sick. That person was denying Christ and putting her faith in a rock....she chose the creation over the Creator.
What an arrogant fool.
