According to the non-canonical Book of Jashar (of which there are two versions), among the sins of violence/injustice causing the flood were the intermingling of species, the use of birth-control and abortion potions, iniquity and murder. It's important to note the word denoting violence in Genesis is "Hamas," also the name of an Islamist political group in control of the Gaza strip.
The world was "full of violence," like Sodom and Gommorah.

Delving into the Apocrypha or the Deuterocanon does leave a sometimes wildly different impression as to just what were the sins requiring the world to be wiped clean, doesn’t it? The corruption described was not just spiritual but physical.

Book of JasharSorry, the only book of Jasher that exists is an 18th century fake/forgery
The Book of Jasher as referenced in 2 Samuel is the book of the upright -- which can be interpreted as the Pentateuch

Maybe there’s a reason Jasher (and Enoch, another favorite in fringe circles) is non-canonical.

Thank You for that 'outside the box' info. Very enlightening.
The world was "full of violence," like Sodom and Gommorah.
And all those 'sins' are still practiced, even the 'intermingling of species' (though it has produced no offspring).
I believe ,that in actuality, the present is one of the least violent in Earth's recent history. We are just more 'aware' of every little thing that happens, the second it happens.
