why would you support a pro abortion pro homosexual agenda person for president?

I'm not. Romney is running *against* abortion and *against* homosexual "marriage." And if that does not change--and so far, both during and after the primaries, he is continuing to run on that platform--and if he picks a pro-life, pro-traditional marriage VP, then I will vote for that ticket in November.

The religion of the President is irrelevant, unless it interferes with the performance of his office.

Romney is pro abortion and pro homosexual agenda.
You do what you need to do, I will not support people who support either of those.

1. Understood. 2. (I don’t rely on politicians for spiritual help anyway). Best, fhc. Ps: at least he’s not expecting “72 virgins” in his heaven...

Elsie and Colofornian, you can post these long, copy-and-paste lists and charts about the intricacies of the LDS, and guess what effect it has? None. You are not persuading anyone. Most people's eyes glaze over and they don't even read what you post. You're not making arguments of your own and truly interacting with your interlocutors; you're just copying and pasting long stuff from elsewhere. And you are not dealing with the central point, which is, demonstrating how Romney's religious beliefs will interfere with the performance of his duties in a secular job.

There are lots of Mormons who do lots of secular jobs just fine. They are upstanding citizens. Their religious views on Christ and the Trinity may be wacky, and they may be going to hell, and I sure wouldn't want them teaching as much as a Sunday School class, but they can handle a secular job just fine.

Also, I have seen no evidence that Gov. Romney used his office as governor to advance Mormon religious distinctives, and that would the case for his multi-term governor father, also--indeed, for most all Mormon political office-holders.

Well stated, Charles, though it will fall on deaf ears.

We are in total agreement. I hope the wording of my post didn’t make you think otherwise.

I remember well when Mormons would honestly admit they weren’t Christians. Their current insistence that they are indeed Christians is an indication of just how devilish and sinister the Mormon cult is.

‘Mormonism is a cultic and satanic perversion of Christianity.’

"Says you. Since I am not a member I do not have to concern myself with the Mormon Church outside of the interactions i have with its members in secular society. Those have not been negative. i am sory if yours have been.

Says the only source of truth about Christ - the Bible. Says the extended Christian Church worldwide. The fact that cultic mormonism perverts the Bible does not mean that its members are "negative". I've met plenty of Hare Krishna's who were quite nice - despite their cultic religion. I've met other cultists that are nice.

Your subjective experience is not the basis of objective truth. And if you don't care about truth, then of course, you "do not have to concern yourself with the Mormon Church" at all. That seems a negative experience.

‘If Mormonism had appeared in SPAIN, during the Inquisition; we'd not be dealing with it today!!’

Why? Islam showed up in Spain and we are dealing with it today

As for the LDS:

That is why the are based in Utah. They where run out of every other state they inhabited. NY, OH, IN. They finally found a place so inhospitable that no one else cared that they where even there.

As for dealing with it, Why? Why do YOU have to deal with it? Are you so insecure in your own faith that you are afraid that some future Mormon planet god will steal you away to a Mormon compound and force you to pray to him? What is it to you?

As for deciding NOT to vote for Romney because he is a Mormon, I have decided that my personal bigotry lies more against Marxism than Mormonism. So considering the choice is between a Marxist who is destroying the country and a Mormon who At least has a sense of business, I chose the Mormon. After we get rid of the Marxist we can deal with the Mormon.

I haven’t always thought about this the way I think today. I voted for John McCain and I regret it. He’s not an across the board conservative and I don’t believe he is a true born-again believer any more than Myth Romney is. I’m done voting for pagan men I don’t really support.

That said, I believe in Christian liberty and I’m not going to beat up on the many Christians who see this issue differently. I recognize I often don’t think as other Christians think. I live on a sparsely populated island.

If we look at the Old Testament standards for selecting overseers in Israel, Myth Romney doesn’t come close to meeting them because he’s a fundamentally dishonest man. Titus tells us an overseer must be above reproach. And I believe Romans 13:3-4 give Christians strong grounds to not vote for any non-Christian because Paul uses the same title for both civil authorities and Christian ministers.

3 For rulers are not a cause of fear for good behavior, but for evil. Do you want to have no fear of authority? Do what is good and you will have praise from the same; 4 for it is a minister of God to you for good. But if you do what is evil, be afraid; for it does not bear the sword for nothing; for it is a minister of God, an avenger who brings wrath on the one who practices evil.
(Romans 13:3-4 NASB)

With that passage in mind, I do not believe the Apostle Paul would have supported ministers for office about whom he had said “let them be accursed.” I think he would ask us, as he did the Corinthians, why we tolerate those who spread a false gospel and another Jesus (2 Corinthians 11:3-4).

From Matthew Poole’s (English theologian 1624-1679) commentary on this passage:

“That is the end of his office. And for this reason God hath invested in him with His authority. The Scripture applieth the same title to him that preacheth the Word, and to him that beareth the sword; both are God’s ministers, and there is one common end of their ministry, which is the good and welfare of mankind.“

Bible-believing Christians would never knowingly hire a non-Christian to minister to their church, so why are we so quick to support non-Christian ministers who “beareth the sword?”

I believe the biblical command is to do what is right and leave the results in His sovereign hands. The only reason I can find for a conservative to vote for Romney is fear of Obama because there is little commendable about Romney. Ultimately I fear the Lord, not men. My hope is in Him, not politicians. As the Psalmist said, “Do not trust in princes, In mortal man, in whom there is no salvation.” (Psalm 146:3)

Christians must recognize Obama is where he is because our sovereign Lord put him there. Since I can’t know the mind of God, I can only guess what He is up to. Obama may be a rod in God’ hand, much like Assyria in Isaiah 10. Isaiah tells us that God used Assyria to punish Israel, so maybe God is using Obama to punish America. Or more specifically, maybe He is using Obama to punish Christians in America for our unfaithfulness. We can take heart in the knowledge that God will eventually deal with Obama and all other malevolent tyrants. Even though Assyria was the rod in God’s hand, He pronounced judgment and woe on them for their evil against His chosen people, Israel.

“When the Lord has finished all his work against Mount Zion and Jerusalem, he will say, “I will punish the king of Assyria for the willful pride of his heart and the haughty look in his eyes.” (Isaiah 10:12)

Once the Lord was finished with His work against Israel, Assyria got what was coming to it, and one day, so will Barack Hussein Obama.

Right, because we can see how the Inquisition caused Judaism and Islam to disappear.

Do you want TESTIMONIES from EX-mormons about the effect?

And you are not dealing with the central point, which is, demonstrating how Romney's religious beliefs will interfere with the performance of his duties in a secular job.

Wrong assumption.

We are 'demonstrating' what things his 'church' teaches and what beliefs this man claims.

Do YOU want to vote for the guy; caring ONLY for the SECULAR things or do you want to factor in ETERNAL things?

Most people's eyes glaze over and they don't even read what you post.

This may very well be true; but there ARE a lot of folks whose eyes have been opened to the things of MORMONism, and have expressed thanks and gratitude to us Flying Inmen for posting them.

Go ahead and worry about the secular job Mitt would do, compared to Barak.

I, and others, will attempt to spread some TRUTH to a world that is DYING for the lack of it.

John 3:9-11

“How can this be?” Nicodemus asked.

“You are Israel’s teacher,” said Jesus, “and do you not understand these things?

Very truly I tell you, we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, but still you people do not accept our testimony.

HUH???

Does reply #89 sound like it was posted in a spirit of FEAR???

MORMONism is a HERESY of HELL!

Why don't 'christians' want to DEAL WITH it scripturally, but choosing instead to just leave it alone to entrap even MORE unwary souls??
