The south is also where my church has gotten new converts who appriciate the faith and are much more traditional.

Yes the areas in question there are more CINOS.

Overall, this is a distraction to cover-up the real issue, that Obama has a recoard that WILL defeat him, the economy.

The one and only unpardonable sin is a sin against the Holy Spirit.

My bible reads "blasphemy" of the Holy Spirit. I think we are on the same page.

Obama saying, he is led by Jesus to sin is a very dangerous position for him to be in.

The sad part is, it's doubtful that he has ever heard of such a thing. That doesn't excuse him because it's readily available to anyone who seeks the truth. Bibles are inexpensive, no matter the version, sometimes they are even free to anyone who wants one. My church gives one to every new visitor.

Obama probably even has a bible laying around somewhere, he needs to crack it open once in a while, even his feeble brain might pick up a grain of truth.

“The last polling I saw has them split 50-50 between Pubs and Rats.”

Catholics traditionally totally support dems in much larger numbers that that, so those numbers are very encouraging.

The Bishops are in war room mode, so don’t discount that fact.

“Born Again Evangelical Christians will have to do the heavy lifting to save our country and culture.”

I hope we do, and believe the Catholics will have our backs.

Thank you so much for the ping, WKB.

“Linking the name of our Savior to sinful behavior is blasphemy, the only unpardonable sin.”

If you are truly a Southern Baptist, as you’ve claimed before, you would know that the only unpardonable sin is to deny Christ as the Son of God, the Father.

“My bible reads “blasphemy” of the Holy Spirit. I think we are on the same page.”

Graybeard, your “bible” is wrong. While blasphemy is a sin, it’s not unpardonable.

Please tell me what “bible” you are reading.

Salvation is Catholic, I am Southern Baptist.

She and I are on the same page.

I realize this is a question of which time he was lying. But do you really think he opposed homosexual marriage in 2008? I think it was a lie then because he was running as a moderate uniter.

Obama supports whatever gains him ground, he has narcissistic personality disorder.

Narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) is a personality disorder in which the individual is described as being excessively preoccupied with issues of personal adequacy, power, prestige and vanity. This condition affects one percent of the population. First formulated in 1968, it was historically called megalomania, and it is closely linked to egocentrism.

Symptoms of this disorder include, but are not limited to:

Reacts to criticism with anger, shame, or humiliation
May take advantage of others to reach their own goal
Tends to exaggerate their own importance, achievements, and talents
Imagines unrealistic fantasies of success, beauty, power, intelligence, or romance
Requires constant attention and positive reinforcement from others
Easily becomes jealous
Lacks empathy and disregards the feelings of others
Obsessed with oneself
Mainly pursues selfish goals
Trouble keeping healthy relationships
Is easily hurt and rejected
Sets unrealistic goals
Wants "the best" of everything
Appears as tough-minded or unemotional

Matthew 12:31 - K.J.V.

Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

The bible says Holy Ghost, I said Holy Spirit.

Was all of this really neccessary?

“Graybeard, your “bible” is wrong. While blasphemy is a sin, it’s not unpardonable”.

“Please tell me what “bible” you are reading”.

“Salvation is Catholic, I am Southern Baptist”.

“She and I are on the same page”.

“If you are truly a Southern Baptist, as you’ve claimed before, you would know that the only unpardonable sin is to deny Christ as the Son of God, the Father”.

That is blasphemy against the Holy Ghost.

I know you don’t care for me and that’s you prerogative but please try to tone down the animosity. I’m praying that God will bless you and your family as much as He has blessed me and mine.

I won’t be argumentative today of all days. My wife and I and the two children we have had for 4 years have a court appointment today at 1:00 P.M., at the Tazewell County court house in Pekin, Illinois, for what is supposed to be our final adoption hearing. The kids are Amber 13 and her brother Nick age 12. If you can find it in your heart, please pray for us that all goes well.

I’ll be writing a vanity tonight (with pictures of the kids) as long as it’s final today. I would love to add you both to my “to ping” list, with your permission of course.

By the way, I did say, “blasphemy of the Holy Spirit”. Should have been blasphemy “against” the Holy Ghost.

The utter denial of Jesus as Savior.

“Born Again Evangelical Christians will have to do the heavy lifting to save our country and culture.”

This is starting to become the norm, i.e., born-again Evangelicals fighting the good fight for the RCs, etc. My husband and I were more outraged about the birth control issue than our Catholic friends were/are; they all practice(d) birth control. And we don’t care about birth control one way or another. We’re more pro-Israel than our Jewish friends; they’re clueless on the issue. Very sad.

From the RSV:

Matthew 12
9 And he went on from there, and entered their synagogue.
10 And behold, there was a man with a withered hand. And they asked him, "Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath?" so that they might accuse him.
11 He said to them, "What man of you, if he has one sheep and it falls into a pit on the sabbath, will not lay hold of it and lift it out?
12 Of how much more value is a man than a sheep! So it is lawful to do good on the sabbath."
13 Then he said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." And the man stretched it out, and it was restored, whole like the other.
14 But the Pharisees went out and took counsel against him, how to destroy him.
15 Jesus, aware of this, withdrew from there. And many followed him, and he healed them all,
16 and ordered them not to make him known.
17 This was to fulfil what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah:
18 "Behold, my servant whom I have chosen, my beloved with whom my soul is well pleased. I will put my Spirit upon him, and he shall proclaim justice to the Gentiles.
19 He will not wrangle or cry aloud, nor will any one hear his voice in the streets;
20 he will not break a bruised reed or quench a smoldering wick, till he brings justice to victory;
21 and in his name will the Gentiles hope."
22 Then a blind and dumb demoniac was brought to him, and he healed him, so that the dumb man spoke and saw.
23 And all the people were amazed, and said, "Can this be the Son of David?"
24 But when the Pharisees heard it they said, "It is only by Be-el'zebul, the prince of demons, that this man casts out demons."
25 Knowing their thoughts, he said to them, "Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste, and no city or house divided against itself will stand;
26 and if Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself; how then will his kingdom stand?
27 And if I cast out demons by Be-el'zebul, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they shall be your judges.
28 But if it is by the Spirit of God that I cast out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.
29 Or how can one enter a strong man's house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man? Then indeed he may plunder his house.
30 He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me scatters.
31 Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.
32 And whoever says a word against the Son of man will be forgiven; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.
33 "Either make the tree good, and its fruit good; or make the tree bad, and its fruit bad; for the tree is known by its fruit.
34 You brood of vipers! how can you speak good, when you are evil? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.
35 The good man out of his good treasure brings forth good, and the evil man out of his evil treasure brings forth evil.
36 I tell you, on the day of judgment men will render account for every careless word they utter;
37 for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned."
38 Then some of the scribes and Pharisees said to him, "Teacher, we wish to see a sign from you."
39 But he answered them, "An evil and adulterous generation seeks for a sign; but no sign shall be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.
40 For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the whale, so will the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
41 The men of Nin'eveh will arise at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and behold, something greater than Jonah is here.
42 The queen of the South will arise at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and behold, something greater than Solomon is here.
43 "When the unclean spirit has gone out of a man, he passes through waterless places seeking rest, but he finds none.
44 Then he says, `I will return to my house from which I came.' And when he comes he finds it empty, swept, and put in order.
45 Then he goes and brings with him seven other spirits more evil than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man becomes worse than the first. So shall it be also with this evil generation."
46 While he was still speaking to the people, behold, his mother and his brothers stood outside, asking to speak to him.
48 But he replied to the man who told him, "Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?"
49 And stretching out his hand toward his disciples, he said, "Here are my mother and my brothers!
50 For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother, and sister, and mother."

I do not believe that you and I were in disagreement.

Now I want to ask you a question, it’s not a trick question and to show you it’s not, I will not even reply to your answer. I’m just curious because I don’t know very much about Catholic teachings and I believe you do.

I’ve heard different answers.

What does the Catholic church say about suicides? Where do they go when they die?

Now for some still painful info concerning me. My father committed suicide in 1974. A faithful Christian all his adult life.

My only experience with suicide was identifying the body of my father in law two years after my husband died. My mother in law died the year after my husband died....just setting the stage for you.

There was a ticket for .25 blood alcohol in his car.

The priest told me that we cannot judge what they did or said before pulling the trigger/taking the pills/whatever.

So, I know nothing more than you do.

I believe that’s what the Scriptures refer to as “twisting the Scriptures to your own destruction”.

Methinks he treats Scriptures as a buffet line — as many, if not most, libs do. He sees what he wants to see and ignores the rest.

Actually, the unpardonable sin as described in Scriptures is giving credit to the Holy Spirit for something evil: i.e. blasphemy. It is NOT something a believer can do as the Holy Spirit indwells the believer and will convict him/her of sin throughout the life of the believer. Those who commit the unpardonable sin are already not saved, so ...
