If you like Jeff's reasonings; then THIS is the man to follow; Robert Millet; MORMON and Professor, Apologist.

I feel like I have a sense of responsibility to be as, as gentle and kind and, in my case, Christian as possible. It's, to me, if you're, if you want to talk about Christianity or what it stands for, you have to look carefully at what it produces in people. My religion, for me, not only sets forth my theology, but it sets forth my practical, daily living in terms of how I treat other people and how I come to love them. And whether they feel the same way about ultimate and eternal things that I do or not.

I joked with him and indicated that I bet he had never given communion to a High Priset in the Mormon Church before, but that I knew we worshiped the same Savior and was happy to rejoice together with him in those sentiments.

I'll bet thaat HE 'knew' differently!

“So one has to wonder why lds, have such reverence for their carpet.”

I guess those gentiles are just like an infectious disease.

Do the Faithful wear booties AFTER the open house?

Plus had some true believers from Colorado City...

You mean TRUE mormons?

Ones that actually FOLLOW MORMON scripture found in D&C 132; unlike the spineless weasels that attend the SLC based LDS church?

and I will go still further and say, take this revelation, or any other revelation that the Lord has given,

and deny it in your feelings, and I promise that you will be damned.

When I ever I think of mohamedism or mormonism (same thing) I think of George Orwell's "Animal Farm."

I picture the Lord's Holy Word and Mad Mo and Joe Smith sitting thee with whiteout and crayons......

No animal shall sleep in a bed with sheets

Thou shalt not kill unless they are unbelievers, then bag your fill

In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead so you just need to ask yourself if you are worthy, and then you'll have faith you are and did a good deed by proclaiming it so.

You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder. because with my new easy bake mormon, you can become a god yourself on planet Xlingon-7 and chose whether or not to bring your wife through the veil.

--I dunno, it's either that;

A child's religion where you don't know all the rules so you make them up as you go;

or the devil trying to deceive many into following him to hell.

Brigham Young

1 wife 49 mistresses 80 children

Hardly an example of virtue and “worthiness”

**********************

Hardly an example of virility either. That is pretty low yield, IMO.

I talked with our paster oand others and ultimately prayed to God in Heaven in the name of Christ if the message, the Book of Moromon and other issues were true.

The Southern Baptists Convention at the time was changing...indicating that Baptism was no longer required...at least it was filtering down to us at that time.

The LORD Jesus Christ said to Jeff, “I AM the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No man or woman comes to the Father except by Me.” John 14.6

Surely you've not PRAYED enough!!

"He (Joseph Smith) is the man through whom God has spoken... yet I would not like to call him a savior, though in a certain capacity he was a god to us, and is to the nations of the earth, and will continue to be."
 - Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses 8:321

"You call us fools; but the day will be, gentlemen and ladies, whether you belong to this Church or not, when you will prize brother Joseph Smith as the Prophet of the Living God, and look upon him as a god..."
- Herber C. Kimball, Journal of Discourses 5:88

"If we get our salvation, we shall have to pass by him [Joseph Smith]; if we enter our glory, it will be through the authority he has received. We cannot get around him [Joseph Smith]"
- (as quoted in 1988 Melchizedek Priesthood Study Guide, p. 142)

There is "no salvation without accepting Joseph Smith. If Joseph Smith was verily a prophet, and if he told the truth...no man can reject that testimony without incurring the most dreadful consequences, for he cannot enter the kingdom of God"
- Joseph Fielding Smith, Doctrines of Salvation, vol. 1, p.190

"I tell you, Joseph holds the keys, and none of us can get into the celestial kingdom without passing by him. We have not got rid of him, but he stands there as the sentinel, holding the keys of the kingdom of God; and there are many of them beside him. I tell you, if we get past those who have mingled with us, and know us best, and have a right to know us best, probably we can pass all other sentinels as far as it is necessary, or as far as we may desire. But I tell you, the pinch will be with those that have mingled with us, stood next to us, weighed our spirits, tried us, and proven us: there will be a pinch, in my view, to get past them. The others, perhaps, will say, If brother Joseph is satisfied with you, you may pass. If it is all right with him, it is all right with me. Then if Joseph shall say to a man, or if brother Brigham say to a man, I forgive you your sins, "Whosoever sins ye remit they are remitted unto them;" if you who have suffered and felt the weight of transgression—if you have generosity enough to forgive the sinner, I will forgive him: you cannot have more generosity than I have. I have given you power to forgive sins, and when the Lord gives a gift, he does not take it back again."
 - Orson Hyde, Journal of Discourses, Vol. 6, p.154-155

"It is because the Lord called Joseph Smith that salvation is again available to mortal men.... If it had not been for Joseph Smith and the restoration, there would be no salvation,"
 - Bruce McConkie, Mormon Doctrine, p. 396, 670

They succeeded in killing Joseph, but he had finished his work.
He was a servant of God, and gave us the Book of Mormon.
He said the Bible was right in the main, but, through the translators and others, many precious portions were suppressed, and several other portions were wrongly translated; and now his testimony is in force, for he has sealed it with his blood.
As I have frequently told them, no man in this dispensation will enter the courts of heaven, without the approbation of the Prophet Joseph Smith, Jun.
Who has made this so?
Have I?
Have this people?
Have the world?
No; but the Lord Jehovah has decreed it.
If I ever pass into the heavenly courts, it will be by the consent of the Prophet Joseph.
If you ever pass through the gates into the Holy City, you will do so upon his certificate that you are worthy to pass.
Can you pass without his inspection?
No; neither can any person in this dispensation, which is the dispensation of the fulness of times.
In this generation, and in all the generations that are to come, everyone will have to undergo the scrutiny of this Prophet.
They say that they killed Joseph, and they will yet come with their hats under their arms and bend to him; but what good will it do them, unless they repent?
They can come in a certain way and find favor, but will they?
 Brigham Young,

--JOURNAL OF DISCOURSES, vol. 8, p. 224

Each church or denomination makes it's own policies about use of church for weddings and who can and can not marry inside the church. A Catholic Priest for example as I understand it can only marry Catholics. A Baptist preacher generally insist on some basic pre-marriage counseling with the couple. I found out as much when I asked my cousin {a Priest} to officiate my first marriage. He couldn't because we were not Catholics. However when my first wife died he did her funeral service at my request.

My second marriage took place in a Catholic Chapel of a hospital. Again we are Baptist. Our preacher officiated with several Nuns and a Priest Chaplain as guest. Yes even though it was a second marriage for both of us and our preacher knew us he still did pre marriage counseling LOL.

In all seriousness though Biblical marriage in a church or otherwise is a man and a woman standing before GOD giving their vows to each other before Him and commitment before Him united through Him.

But; those churches do NOT have a 'requirement' on who can ATTEND a wedding in their buildings!

Weddings and funerals get the most UNBELIEVERS into church.

I've been to both where there were ALTAR calls after/during the ceremonies!

No church (in it's right mind) would exclude any unbeliever from attending any service on it's grounds!
