JP Morgan Chase, one of Americas leading banks, has closed down an account held by the Vatican bank at its Italian branch office in Milan.
Neither the American bank nor the Vatican bank (formally known as the Institute for Religious Works, or IOR) offered any public comment on the move. But officials at JP Morgan Chase acknowledged that the IOR account was closed because of concerns about the possible use of the Vatican bank for money-laundering.

Didn’t I see this in Godfather 3?
If this is a fight started by the liberals, they won’t win it.
Peter’s pence collections were in there. They are only hurting the poor! shame.
Et tu Jamie?
I’m not Catholic. But I am going to be looking for another bank.
Obama against the Catholic church? LOL
Somehow I think this is one he is going to lose.
Kind of like when Stalin asked “How many divisions does the Pope have”. Perhaps legions of angels. Giving credit where due, a Pope (and the Good Lord) had a hand in bringing down the Evil Empire. A Pope (although some will discredit him as a collaborator, although hard evidence proves otherwise) ran an underground railroad right under the Nazis’ nose.
I may have some theological differences of opinion, but there is a time to stand against evil. And we will win.
I left JPM a long time ago. Terrible bank. I deal w a local community bank for personal and business and will never ever deal with on of. TJE big 5
And wasn’t there a story yesterday about Muslims taking Rome?
He is as Rev. Manning says a “long-legged Mack Daddy”.
I just read this from the Bible and it describes him perfectly:
Proverbs 19:28-29
28 A worthless witness mocks at justice, and the mouth of the wicked devours iniquity.
29 Condemnation is ready for scoffers, and flogging for the backs of fools
Proverbs 16:5
5 All those who are arrogant are an abomination to the Lord;
be assured, they will not go unpunished
I hear ya.
I was with Bank of America. HAD it with them and switched to Wells Fargo YEARS ago and am with them still. The bank I go to is in my neighborhood and I get to know the tellers, managers and folks behind the big desks.
My husband got me on to them. He was good at picking out nice folks. He had a knack.
Boy, Scripture can be harsh when it has to be. Good choices.
JPM bought BONY and it went to hell. bank of new York was a good local bank for everything. JPM bought it put and it went to pot. verything was automated and robotic. branch managers became a thing of monthly changes etc.
Went to a local bank on lower NYS, and it is the best move I ever made for business. friendly, personal, fair, etc.
I will NEVER deal w BA, JPM, CITI, WAMU, Wachovia, etc.
Good for you.
Obama picked the wrong enemy. He was against them even prior to his presidency; the Vatican was even prepared to go to “war” with him over the Freedom Of Choice Act if he signed it (that bill died). Obama had once said (as a senator in 2007) that the first thing he would do if he were president was sign the FOCA into law.
Thank you for your post...it does my heart good!
Remind me again, where did all that gold the Croatian fascists brought to Vatican City wind up? Or the Croatian fascists that were hiding out there, for that matter?
Or do we conveniently ignore the other “underground railroads” that were running to Argentina?
The regime’s tentacles reach far and wide. We all know who controls the banks.. The same monster that controls the media, health care, the automotive industry, stock market, education, blah blah blah..
I hope your right. Obama needs to start losing something.
As it turns out, he got FOCA enacted anyway — he just called it “health care reform”.
As much of FOCA as that contains was more than enough to provoke a strong reaction from the very church the president will not win against.
Yes, you did.
In reality, it wasn’t the traditional mafia that was doing war vs. the Vatican reformers, but a masonic lodge, named Propaganda Due, whose members include Silvio Berlusconi. Yes, that Berlusconi.

“Chase is closing the Vatican banks account with an Italian branch of the U.S. banking giant because of concerns about a lack of transparency at the Holy Sees financial institution,”
Concerns, sure that gota be it.

You know that Bank of America and J. P. Morgan-Chase are different banks, right?
