Some seem to be more drunk on rageaholism and bitterness, resentment than on alcohol, even.

Which makes it Paulianity by definition. But then we're told that Saint Paul's epistles aren't actually Scripture...they should have just written a new book like the Mormons did.

As I said, and as well all seen for months now, Rome apparently has a great rapport with agnosticism As Protestants with Gnosticism?

well just *one* scandal old Pristine has had to deal with is the alcoholic priesthood, so they set the example, drink all week, confess, and start up again

As Protestants with Gnosticism? Just call it heresy, many of The Reformed® have never even seen a dictionary and they have no clue what gnosticism is.

The bondage which the Catholic church puts on people is due to their inaccurate portrayal of God as a intolerant, unforgiving taskmaster who is ready to zap someone for the least little transgression, Huh? I guess you're not a Calvinist, since the God you describe is clearly the God of Jonathan Edwards, et al. It's the Catholics on this thread who have been insisting (in the face of opposition from the Calvinists and possibly others) that God is love.
To: Dr. Eckleburg
As I said, and as well all seen for months now, Rome apparently has a great rapport with agnosticism. Let's see. We can deal with people who are having a crisis of faith. Or we can deal with the Reformed who don't believe in the Christian faith at all, but in esoteric hallucination. Hmmm. It's easier dealing with crises in faith than paganism. Sorry about your luck. Like the agnostic, Rome knows nothing for certain.
Yeah, but we're betting on Calvinist Judgement. You guys are handicapped pretty severely, but we think that you'll cover the spread.

I wonder if the percentage of alcoholic RCs is worse with frequent attenders . . . confessing/assuaging guilt etc. We're wondering about LSD usage in the Pentecostal movement, ourselves...

"Ive suspected more than one of you habitually PWI" The first miracle at the wedding at Canaan was an acknowledgment that sometimes even the most devout need some assistance tolerating the lies of the anti-Catholics.

Agreed. How much of the NT was actually written by the individual whose name appears on the current Bible? Paul wrote as little as half of his purported letters; I am told we have the bible thanks to the catholic church..so I guess that means Rome is fallible afterall

I don’t know, Mark. Something might be in the wafers, with all the Mary in the toast, Mary in the fencepost, Mary in the crockpot visions that keep so many Catholics in rapturous wonderment.

Metmom= Getting back to the subject, Protestants go to church on Sundays out of a desire to and to worship in fellowship with other believers. We go freely, not out of compulsion laid on us by the church we attend due to threats of mortal sin and hellfire and brimstone.Mark =Yes, we understand that your religion is of your own making and your god is what you create. We get it and while there are many ex Catholics who succumb to the urge to create their own god, there are that many more who accept and worship God. We are Moses, spiritually attached to God, and the children of the Reformation are Aaron, making the golden calf to satisfy their own whims and immediate desires. We get that. And we appreciate that you have illuminated the distinction.
Mark why do you go to church on Sundays ?

thanks for being objective, kind and honest. Hey, I call 'em like I see 'em! ;-)
BTW, I recently saw a reference (somewhere on the Internet) to some debate in the early Church as to whether the Jewish scriptures should be accepted at all by the Christian Church. But it was just a passing reference. Do you know anything about this, who might have written on it (either primary or secondary source)? I'd like to know more about it but don't know where to start.
To: kosta50; metmom
I didn't change the subject. Worship includes praise but also prayers as well. That is backwards Kosta..
Worship IS adoration ..praising God for who He is and all His works..
Prayer should contain some worship (Adoration) , but also consists of confession, thanksgiving and supplication
The fact that this is not understood points to agnosticism not faith

I dont know if youve picked up on this yet, but nobody with any spiritual life in them takes you seriously. The only ones who do at the others who are having faith issues themselves. The fact that some will take instruction from one that doubts Gods existence speaks for itself..
