You must not have heard of Archbishops Rigali and Burke.

I am aware that both have publicly said that elected officials who are Roman Catholic and who support abortion should be publicly refused communion. I'm not aware of any similar quotes by either man concerning Roman Catholic polticians who support divorce or who are divorced and remarried or who support capital punishment. Can you point me to some?

Or Bishop Brusketwitz and a host of others.

Or Bishop Brusketwitz, either.

"Tell me, if he is repentant - doesn't that mean more than 'sorry'? Doesn't it mean changing the situation?"

I have to agree 100% with that idea, but do we have reason to believe that it is not so? Also, there are millions that have realized the flaws in Vatican theology WRT communion, but still have not left their parish. Family traditions are strong in that area in dominantly Catholic countries. I can recall numerous letters being read at the intro to the J.Vernon McGee program stating just that fact.

When Giluliani received communion at the Papal mass, the only complaints were about his supporting abortion.

That's not so, not among the religious I know in NYC.

Remarriage after divorce is, according to Catholic teaching, living in permanent and —public— adultery. That is why Communion is denied.

Then why do Catholics vote majority for the Democrat Party?

Catholics voted for Bush by a huge majority. Just because a few CINOs that you know vote Democrat, doesn’t mean that all Catholics vote that way.

Quite the contrary.

If you read Romans, you will understand exactly what I am talking about.

Have you ever read Paul’s Epistle to the Romans?

Looking for a “yes” or “no” answer.

It’s not unlike you asking me about a movie that I’ve not seen yet.

Make sense?

I will go out on a limb here and say I do not believe the RCC is correct in its implementation of communion.

You can say the moon is made out of cheese if you want but you'd still be just as wrong. You might want to familiarize yourself with what St. Paul wrote in First Corinthians, perhaps for the very first time, and then return and correct your responses.

"Therefore whosoever shall eat this bread, or drink the chalice of the Lord unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and of the blood of the Lord. But let a man prove himself: and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of the chalice. For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh judgment to himself, not discerning the body of the Lord." 1 Corinthians 11:27-29

Read Romans. All of it.

Indeed, you should.

"Where is then thy boasting? It is excluded. By what law? Of works? No, but by the law of faith. For we account a man to be justified by faith, without the works of the law. Is he the God of the Jews only? Is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also. For it is one God, that justifieth circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith. Do we, then, destroy the law through faith? God forbid: but we establish the law." Romans 3:27-31

I was citing the 2004 election...........you are citing the 2006 elections. Apples and oranges.

I really don’t think the Catholic vote will go to Obama.

How can we judge when possibly the person just went to Confession and received the Sacrament of Reconciliation and promised to amend his/her ways.

We can not judge. “Take the log out of your own eye.”

or who support capital punishment.

The Church teaches that the state has the right to implement capital punishment.

Instead of posting inaccurate, ill-informed comments, do the necessary book work and actually learn something. You'll avoid coming across as a not too bright emoter.
