You might not reconsider your faith, others might. But I was not arguing that there was any agenda at all, just offering a supposition as to why an earlier poster might think there was an agenda to suppress truth.

I have had several online discussions with orthodox jews who almost toss their cookies at the mention of the name Jesus. They believe Christians have kidnapped their history and turned it into spiritual mumbo jumbo. Can't fault em for that. They should believe that their messiah speaks through money grubbing televangelists? Or the dame on TV with the 5 lbs of goulish make-up? It ain't rocket science.

I seem to be able to believe in spite of them, certainly not because of them and their God is a vending machine doctrine.

That is incorrect. It is the Church's belief that Mary "ascended" into heaven. Being that Mary was born without original sin, there was no need for her to die.
