Wouldn't it be wonderful if tomorrow Bush annouced "If there is not a unified vote for the use of force to disarm Saddam the United States, Britain and Spain withdraw from the debating society formerly known as the United Nations." Wouldn't if be wonderful?

Does Bush need the approval of Congress? If he does need Congress' approval to withdraw he doesn't need approval to tell Powell not to go there anymore.

No, no, no.

It's properly rendered (at least in Windows land) with the alt-0161 character.

List this:

Yep. I think the excitement of having this go over my house cause a momentary lapse of reason. Sorry.

"The Iraqi regime will disarm itself or the Iraqi regime will be disarmed by force -- and the regime has not disarmed itself," Bush said.

"We will push as quickly as possible for an Iraqi interim authority to draw upon the talents of Iraq's people to rebuild their nation. We are committed to the goal of a unified Iraq with democratic institutions."

That is from President Bush's remarks today. IMHO, that sounds like the declaration that things have already started right there.

Bush saying "France has already shown it's cards" is a very clever way of publicly turning it on France if U.S. and allies decide that they don't want the vote. I don't think there is much advantage to this resolution, its prety much a rehash of 1441.

I agree with you. I want the vote, to see who's who.

They can vote while we're bombing the crap outta Iraq. Can't you just imagine those little toads voting against intervention while Baghdad goes up in smoke? Hahaha!

Screw Tuesday, Screw anything past tonight.

Bush needs to fly back to Washington D.C., enter the Oval Office, call the media and start this thing. The delays are driving _ME_ nutty. I cannot imagine how it is affecting our troops. Send the EMPs in _NOW_. Send the troops in, in a few days, let them accept the surrenders and kill the few resistors.

The Iraqi people want freedom. I want freedom for them. I want freedom for everyone. Isn't it a riot that an occupied Iraq would be more free than under the thumb of Saddam?

Make them vote. All who vote "no" are not friends of the United States.

My heart agrees but my head says "Bad idea." A resolution rejected but then ignored by us would give France and Germany et al. a pretense to throw it to the General Assembly, which would likely vote against us. As it stands now we have the legal backing of 1441 and all prior resolutions.

Didn't you hear the news conference? He plans to turn Iraq over to the UN for administration after we dislodge Hussein's regime. I am totally opposed to Americans dieing for the corrupt, totally rotten UN officials. There is no point in winning in Iraq just to turn it over to our enemies for rape and pillaging.

I am TOTALLY opposed to this war if that is his plan. If he does such a thing, I will call for his impeachment.
