No.
I am not fasting to protest this war.
Period.

"The Pope is a wonderful man and he is doing what he believes is right. What did most of you think he would say? Bomb them and let God sort them out?"
I spent 12 years getting a Catholic education...with everything that I've read and seen concerning Iraq, I completely believe that it meets the qualifications of a Christian "just war". Apparently at some point the Pope has decided that determination of a "just war" was completely subjective.

I know what you mean. I was going to note that it was from Germany, but I noticed that the caption came with the graphic.
I'm Catholic, and I know I shouldn't laugh at that, but it's just so ridiculous.

OR, the Pope, like most world leaders, believes this war is rash and unnecessary. Our few "allies" are bought and paid for. The coalition driving this war forward consists of apocalyptic born-agains, the Zionist lobby and war nuts.

LOL...the Pope should leave the "Bomb them and let God sort them out" to true Christians leaders...like Robertson, Falwell, and Bauer.

What he could say is
"Islam is not a religion, it is a ideology based on world domination masquerading as a religion. No other religion requires total submission or death. Islam does.!
ISLAM IS TERRORISM BY IT"S VERY NATURE and is a direct threat to the Church and all Christians on the face of the planet"
...But that would be taking sides and standing up for your religion like the Bible says !

Big Feast for *Real* Peace A FEAST FOR PEACE movement!! I LOVE IT.. then we can continue being the MAJOR COUNTRY FEEDING the majority of people in other countries like we ALWAYS have been!
The Pope should go into Etheopia (sp?) and ask them if they are fasting against war.. or if it is because there are filthy rich churches around the world who DO NOT insure they are fed!! Ask "them" how it feels to really fast/starve!!
Heck, while I'm on a role.. I could say that the Pope diminishes their starvation by treating NOT EATING so lightly!! (I'm digressing.. sigh)

Actually, I would expect this pope to trace the intellectual history of the Baath Socialist Party, realize it is the child of both Nazism and Communism and then preach a crusade against Saddam Hussein and Baath Socialism.

Next week I believe, the Orthodox Great Fast will begin. It is just not right to call a fast for a political reason and ignore the comming Easter. But who am I kidding - the Popes have a long history of meddling in politics.
