February 26, 2003 -- "Of my 306 ships, 195 of them are under way this morning - six of the 12 carrier battle groups and two-thirds of the amphibious force carrying the Marines. They are under way in support of the nation's interests, leading the defense of the United States of America away from our shores . . . taking the sovereignty of the United States of America anywhere we have to take it."

My husband (FR screen name Hostel) is sooo pissed that his boat isn't due to head over to that part of the world any time soon. He wants to go kick some ass.

For what it's worth, thank you. All of us who never served owe such a debt to those who did and do.

I tried to serve but was turned down for medical reasons. So thanks... you are all each a hero for our beautiful America.

>>Haze grey and underway.

Speaking of which, a useful site:

Haze Grey and Underway

Great site, a mini-Jane's Fighting Ships that's free. I was there yesterday to see what Japan had in the way of Aegis-equipped ships in the wake of the NK missile test. Four Kongo-class destroyers was the answer. I hope they're all in the Sea of Japan, unless there's one with us in the Gulf.
