And also since identified as an undercover police informant. The source of the handgun, at one time previously in LAPD and federal custody, is interesting as well.

I'm interested in more information on this since I took a pass on Altamont to study for an exam while a couple of roomates did go and returned with tales of "a real bummer, man".

I'm interested [in Altamont stabbing victim/LAPD informant Merideth Hunter] in more information on this since I took a pass on Altamont to study for an exam while a couple of roommates did go and returned with tales of "a real bummer, man".

That came out along with other details back around the time of the racketeering/murder trial of Hell's Angels leader Sonny Barger, who not only admitted having himself having been an informant for the BATF, trading info on non-Angels in exchange for having charges against his own pals dropped, but to having also committed murders for the LAPD and BATF, with a requested kidnap/murder of Eldridge Cleaver [*Bring him home in a box*] and California Chicano labor leader Cesar Chavez being among the targets of BATF's mini-COINTELPRO death squad.

See Plans to kill Eldridge Cleaver and Cesar Chavez, Treasury Dept. On camera attributed statements by ATF Agent Larry Shears, Dec 17, 1971, 5:50 P.M., Channel 23, Los Angeles; New York Times January 2, 1972; San Francisco Chronicle, 12-20-72, Trial of Sonny Barger: "He had been approached by law enforcement officers asking him to kill someone." He frequently entered into deals with authorities in exchange for dismissal of charges against gang members.

[noted as footnote #47 of Mae Brussell article Martial Law without the riots regarding the use of agents provocateur to provide excuses for martial law declarations.] See also Amazing Story Reported by Hell's Angels Chief by Drew McKillips, San Francisco Chronicle, Dec 12 1972, Page 1, and ATF Agent Says He Was Part of Coast Plot to Kill Chavez in the 02 January 1972 edition of the New York Times, Page 31, noted in the atricle noted *here*.

You'll not find the specific references to Hunter as an LAPD snitch [or possibly, hitman] there, but they'll get you pointed in the right direction. It's come up before, and since.
