‘No Americans Allowed’; Syrian Restaurant

DAMASCUS, April 30 (IslamOnline) - The owner of a Syrian restaurant was not satisfied with telling every and each American that they were not allowed in. This made him put a huge sign on his restaurant’s front door reading, “No Americans allowed”.

Ahmed Diab, owner of Mondo Fast Food - designed in an American style - said that he considered “all Americans responsible for what is going on in Palestine, not just the U.S. diplomats”.

Early April, owner of another Syrian restaurant (Oxygen) told the U.S. consul to Syria that he was not welcome in her restaurant and sent him out.

Diab said that Palestinian children, women and men are killed and humiliated on a daily basis, thanks to American biased policies. “We cannot offer them food in our restaurants in return. Let the Americans feel our growing hatred because of their country’s hostile policies toward Arabs,” he added.

“No one questions U.S. aid, of all kinds, to Israel. So, we have every right to express our rejection to such policies in any way we see fit.”

Diab called on all Arab states and peoples to boycott U.S. products, dismiss U.S. ambassadors and consuls. He asserted that many of the Syrian businessmen he knows are changing their dealings from the U.S. dollar to the Euro currency.

If the Syrians switch from the US$ to the $EU, the impact will be dramatic. :>)

After reading this thread, Donkey-Bomb Fails, I don't want to eat there. Who knows what they did with the donkey.

Guess I'll just have to cross Syria off my list of backwards third world nations I wanted to visit.

Let's make a deal: We won't eat in their restaurants. They don't come to our country.

Any student of history knows that Syria was once a center of Middle Eastern commerce and culture. That was before the cream of their populace moved to the United States, Israel and elsewhere.

Must be real rough to run a country whose best and brightest were expelled Jews no longer welcome there.

In what way? Dramatic good or bad and to whom?

But ... had we done this in America ... put a sign on our restaurants saying - No Syrians allowed ... there would have been total liberal outrage.

I notice the liberals are not complaining to Syria ...?

Geez! And all those Americans waiting in line to get into this chandala's place. What will happen to them?

Had a :>), it was a joke.

Aside from the fact that the Euro (Weasel currency) is a failure, worrying about Syria's foreign exchange transactions is as significant as swatting a mosquito.

I am so upset by this. My wife and I were planning a trip to Syria in the fall and now it looks like we will have to pack our own lunch. No more of those wonderful camel & monkey burgers at Mondo's.

She deserves to have the Lifetime and Oxygen channels piped in to her restaurant 24/7.

I like your no weasel sign. I was thinking that it would make a good protest against all the Democrat congress members who are going back on their vote for the Iraq attack. We could inundate their e-mails with no weasel signs and quotes of public statements they made.

Civilization hasn't arrived, so no web sites. Found a pic, apparently this has been going on for awhile, the news just made it to the Islamic publications in Illinois, they must not visit home much, can't blame them.

Banning Americans from a restaurant in Syria, great courage.
