MIAMI -- When the federal government announced in the spring that it would slash the time many foreigners can spend in the USA to 30 days, the news shook German-born Rainer Filthaut and others in Florida's real estate and tourism industries.

As someone who has lived abroad, 90 days seems about right to me. 30 days really is too short. I'd rather see tighter screening. I'm sure a terrorist could do as much mischief in 30 days as they could in 90 or 180.

I was thinking the same thing. Profiling would cure this problem. Why punish everyone?... We know who the problem is.
