Uh, shiny side out, folks.

ADS said seven health-care facilities, located in Arizona, Texas, Florida and Virginia, have signed up to distribute the chip, in addition to mobilizing a large bus the company has outfitted as a mobile "chipping station." Would-be customers can also register online.

Meanwhile, privacy advocates are wondering about the specter of forced chippings.

Well, I suppose it would be all right for them to implant one in me. Right after I'm finished with implanting something in them first.

Scary.

They'd have about as much success trying to sell me a silicon implant as they would with silicone implants.

Could be useful for tracking (soon to be) aliens overstaying their visas though, eh?

COULD WE REMEMBER TO

INSERT INTO THE TITLE WITH [GET SLAGGED]

THE MORE ACCURATE LABEL?

It doesn't matter to me whether someone else comes up with a better one or not. I think getting

SLAGGED [SLave taGGED] is quite fitting.

Using it with all we talk about it with will cause eventually many 10's of thousands of people or more to understand the true implications.

IF WE ALLOW THEM TO USE THE TERM "GETTING CHIPPED" without correcting them with GETTING SLAGGED we are allowing the impression that people are hip technologically, modern, up with the times etc.

GETTING SLAGGED IS MUCH MORE ACCURATE. LET US USE IT, PLEASE!

IMHO.

What will happen when the day comes that implantable chips are use to increase human intelligence?

If you were a high school student getting ready to take the SAT, would you have a chip implanted that would help you do better on the test?

Would you have a chip implanted that would help you do your job better, making you more marketable and helping you to earn more money?

I fear that implantable chips for the purpose of identification is only the tip of this iceberg.

Or not. Terrorists won't bother getting chipped or else they will get fake ones corresponding to law abiding aliens or dead people. The problem is this is single factor security, about as good as saying that possessing Joe Shmoe's credit card makes me Joe Shmoe.
