Blake's lawyers petitioned the California Supreme Court on Monday to grant their client bail without a further hearing. ... Among the items found at the barn behind Blake's home listed in the search warrant are two .38-caliber revolvers, 11 bullets, a holster, leggings, steel wool, an oil can, Teflon lubricant, a videotape, checks, a 22-inch metal bar with a black handle, ...

Well, I can understand why he was trying to get immediate bail.

Interesting how this moving guy just happened to see into a box suspended seven feet off the floor when he was there to pick up exersize equipment. Must be a really tall moving guy.

Anyone know why the murder weapon was covered in fresh motor oil? What would be the purpose?

It may have happened in the dumpster. If there was a purpose, to cover fingerprints.

A coke can or something similar packed with steel wool will give you a silencer for a couple of shots. It messes up the trajectory though.

That and it would keep the acid in your hand from leaving persistent prints, making it easy to wipe. I always wondered why blake didn't have powder residue.

oil filters from a car have long been a "poor mans" silencer. Stuffing it with steel wool further dampens the sound of the out gassing.

The man, who was removing the items last Friday, looked into "the box and saw a blue steel gun in a holster," according to the search warrant. "He also saw a knit hat and a garment that he thought might be a pair of gloves. (The man) immediately became nervous and called LAPD."

Oooohhh Nooooooooo. Not a knit hat. Were all dooooomed!
