"It's a sting operation, pure and simple."

I can almost hear the theme music from the movie! ;^)

Did I say catholicism was the religion of Brazil? No.

According to the Roman Catholic Church, over 80% of the population is Catholic. You can play around if you want, but I'm still not sure how religion has any effect on how well a country performs economically. Conceivably, a religion that bans its adherents from working, or requires too much of a time commitment to allow its adherents to prosper could be a problem. But that isn't the case in Brazil.

You don't really mean that statement, do you? Where have you been since 9-11? You mean to tell me the Islamic religion has no effect on their economy? Baloney. They live in the stone age because their religion opposes technical progress.

Why doesn't Brazil outperform the USA? I say religion has a lot to do with how a country performs economically.

Fanatical Islam does impede technical progress, scholarship and sensible birth control. But I have a hard time believing that your typical secularized Muslim Turk or Egyptian is any less productive than their Protestant or Jewish counterparts.

Why doesn't Brazil outperform the USA? I say religion has a lot to do with how a country performs economically.

And I think you're nuts. Do you have any arguments to back up your assertion? Or are you just going to claim again that Brazil's 145 million Catholics aren't Catholics?

See, you admitted it. Religions are different and can effect the ecomonic prosperity of a nation.

I admitted it in the original post. But since Brazil is hardly victim to a fanatical religion, so I'd like to see what arguments you can possibly contrive to support your assertion.

The United States Is In Deep Doodoo!
in memory of MR and JT

United States Congressional Record - March 17, 1993 - Vol. #33, page H-1303 - Speaker- Rep. James Traficant, Jr. (Ohio) addressing the House:

"Mr. Speaker, we are here now in chapter 11. Members of Congress are official trustees presiding over the greatest reorganization of any Bankrupt entity in world history, the U.S. Government. We are setting forth hopefully, a blueprint for our
future. There are some who say it is a coroner's report that will lead to our demise."

LOCK HIM UP, LOCK HIM UP,HE CAN'T BE SPEAKING THE TRUTH LIKE THAT.
(Especially in Congress)
