This is very good news. THIS is how the war on terror will ultimately be won. It will take a very long time, but we have to turn Islam into a Religion of Peace. Or we have to eliminate it.

Look for secular convergence of socialism and Islamism here too...

A move in the right direction.
How Mush plans to stay alive is another matter.

If Musharraf follows through on this it is indeed good news. Now if we can get the rest of the arab world to act thusly...

Now if we can get the rest of the arab world to act thusly...

... and if we can get the U.S. mosques to stop cultivating sedition and being the meeting places for terrorists.

In all the recent cases, terrorists and potential terrorists have been using U.S. mosques as their places to make contact.

Notably, they have NOT been using Protestant churches, Jewish temples, Quaker meeting houses, Buddhist shrines, or houses of worship used by the Amish, Shinto, Episcopalians, Sikhs, Baha'i, Catholics, Santeria, or any other faith aside from one, and that is Islam, the religion of mental illness, sedition, and terrorism.

This is not Musharraf war against terror, but his war against his opponents. The extremists are challenging him openly. With all this he hopes to limit their power.

Pakistan aided the Afghan and Kashmiri terror groups in the past, and even do it now.

This may get the approval from Hillary's politically correct mind screeners, but unfortunately, it is the conclusion that I draw every time I watch an interview with the one of these Jessie Jackson wannabe, Islamic, 5th Century idiots.

Outstanding news. The only way to win the war on terrorism is to stop the creation of new terrorists.

Musharraf is making dramatic progress in his country and I wish other countries, particularly Saudi Arabia, would follow his lead.

Eventually the Saudis will do this too. But unlike Pak, they don't need our money. Iran is next. Turkey will be built up as a bridge between Europe and the modernized Islamic nations, especially Iran.

This is a key direction - if it is possible to enforce. The Islamic extremists - aided by al Qaeda - aim to take over Pakistan militarily. Their strategic goal is to obtain the Pakistani nuclear weapons. This, IMHO, is the real danger we, and the world for that matter, face. We must prevent a loss of power by Musharraf at any cost. For the time being, he and Pakistan are our allies. We can reconsider their loyalty later.

Sure they do.

The only reason they even feign interest in what we think is that they like to sell us their oil. Without that, they will starve.

This is great news. For Musharraf's sake, he must do this for himself and all level headed Pakistani's or the evil islamofascists will kill them all.

This is not Musharraf war against terror, but his war against his opponents
Who are allied with the terrorists. Musharraf's a valuable ally in the War on Terror regardless of his motivations.

"Pakistan will soon enact laws that ban the teaching of extreme Islamic views at its 8,000 madrassas..."

YAWN. This sounds very nice, but talk is cheap.

Call me back after Pakistan has actually enacted AND begun enforcing these laws. Which would most likely cause civil war, so I won't hold my breath.
