May 21, 2002 -- THE Democrats, with Hillary in the lead, have blown it big time in their recent outraged flurry of questions about what President Bush knew and when he knew it. A close examination of the memos Condoleezza Rice discussed last week yields a clear, if unsettling answer: not a whole lot.

Another one of Hitlery's famous over-reaches, which typically backfire "big time". Among others:
* Not settling with Paula Jones sooner.
* Using the phrase "Vast Right-wing Conspiracy"
* Firing the staff of the White House Travel Office
* Using the phrase "FJB"
* Kissing Sudah Arafat
* Heading up the Healthcare Task Force
etc.,etc.

Isn't it ironic that the Post was the paper with the headline "BUSH KNEW"...guess they are trying to hand the Bush administration an olive branch...well as long as Dick Morris is around I think Hitlery will have a very difficult time running for POUS in '08...of course she still has to run for the Senate in '06...might be interesting...don't think she will get a pass next time but you New Yawkers could prove me wrong...

In the aftermath of the Olympic bombing of 1996 and the downing of TWA Flight 800 that spring, the Clinton administration was alive with a flurry of proposals to increase airport safety. In polling in July of 1996, we examined four specific proposals to heighten air safety The *downing* of Flight 800? Am I missing something here? I thought the official word was that this was an accident? How would increased security measures obstruct an accident from happening?

While her over-reaches aren't very popular on this forum, I can't see where they've cost her "big-time" yet... The sheeple in NY just elected her Senator, for cryin' out load...

She'll always be save in New Yawk because too many Dems have moved in to the city and too many Pubbies moved out from upsstate. Look at the voting records of NY congress members and there are only two that have a voting record over 60% conservative! There's several upstate in the 50's but that's about it !

The most eye-opening and disgusting item in Morris' column isn't about security, Hillary, or Gore. No. It is the simple fact that Bill Clinton was compelled to conduct a stupid POLL(!) in order to decide how to strengthen airport security. No other president has been so addicted to polls. Rush is exactly right about Clinton. Every day, when he entered the Oval Office, the guy stuck his finger into the wind. Then he had Morris come in and give him the overnights on every single serious issue the country faced, for eight years. The man NEVER had an original thought. Never!

Stephanopolis has even used the phrase "bombing of TWA Flight 800" and no one has called him on it... Why was the Clinton war room up and running that night? Too many questions...

Hillary's own husband knew about the threats to use airplanes as missiles. Do a web search for "Operation Bojinka" and see what kinds of stories and information turns up.
Read here at this article
--------------------------------------
Today, the military continues its operation against the Abu Sayyaf with the goal of rescuing its latest group of hostages, including two Americans.
Although the Abu Sayyaf demanded the release of international terrorist Ramzi Yousef in exchange for its hostages last year, Filipino authorities dismiss any strong ties to Osama Bin Laden.
'Kidnap-for-ransom'
"We think the Abu Sayyaf is basically a kidnap-for-ransom gang," Presidential Spokesman Rigoberto Tiglao tells CNN.
"They have some tinge of Islamic militancy, but essentially they've become a bandit group."
But Abu Sayyaf members did receive additional training from Ramzi Yousef, who lived in the Philippines from 1994-1995.
A bomb-making expert, Yousef was one of the masterminds behind the World Trade Center bombing in 1993.
Soon after that, he began to set up a terrorist cell in the Philippines, exporting friends and relatives from the Middle East.
Three plots
A chemical fire in his apartment alerted authorities to his hideout and helped uncover three terrorist plots:
-- an attempt to assassinate the Pope during his 1995 visit to Manila;
-- a conspiracy to bomb US airliners in Asia called Operation Bojinka ("loud explosion");
-- and a plan to recruit pilots to hijack US jetliners in the continental United States and slam the planes into government and commercial buildings.
Philippine authorities turned their evidence over to the U.S. government, providing evidence which led to the NY conviction of Yousef and his cohorts for "Operation Bojinka."
While in the Philippines, Yousef traveled to the Abu Sayyaf base in Basilan and trained about 20 members in 1994.
A year later, he gathered about 20 men in Matabungkay, near the capital, Manila, and trained them allegedly to help assassinate the Pope.

Morris locked on this because Georgie Steph's statement he made about the shoot down on flight 800. Georgie slipped after he left the clinton admin and Morris has been using this as his proof that it was a shootdown. He's explained this in detail on Hannity's radio show !

The *downing* of Flight 800? Am I missing something here?I think flight 800 was Lockerbie, Scotland, (Lybian Terrorist Bombers) adn flight 103 was the 'accident' over Long Island Sound.

Here's a link from today on FR:
TWA Flight 800 - FIRO Petitions NTSB for Reconsideration of Probable Cause of Crash Very strange. Unfortunately, I missed Morris talking about Flight 800 on Hannity, even though I listen to him 99% of the time. It's always the show I miss! Like George S calling it a "bombing": missed that, too.
I just remember that DAY it went down and the witnesses on the SCENE talking about "flares" and "streaks of light" going UP towards the plane before it exploded and crashed.

This is gonna be a wild ride for the rest of the week.
Terrosist warnings popping up all over the place
Bush getting wacked in Europe
Bush putting on the pressure to take out Saddam
Hamas threatening attacks in the USA
Bush/Putin signing Nuke agreement
Dems commingout and playing politics
Strap yourself in it's gonna be a ride !

What do you suppose Bush will due if an American city gets vaporized by a tactical nuke? Remind us again that Islam is a religion of peace? Or perhaps close the borders, deport all these towel-heads and turn Iran, Iraq, Syria and Pakistan into a collective radioactive ash-heap?
I must admit, it would be a good start. It makes me wonder just how many body bags it's going to take for this to become an option.

I thought the official word was that this was an accident?That is the official word. But there are still investigations going on. George Stefanopoulos slipped on ABC News are called it the "first terrorist attack". I didn't believe it was an accident then, and I don't believe it now.
The downing of TWA 800 caused my husband and me to cancel our flight reservations and jump into our car for a cross country trip to CA a couple of days later. Now 8 years later we've motored to both the east and west coasts at least a dozen times. We've taken only 3 flights in that time -- one to use up the tickets we canceled in July 1996, one other quick trip to the West Coast, and one trip to Ireland, September 7-15, 2001. We far prefer driving and shall continue to travel by that mode as long as we are able.

I suggest that Clinton did an awful lot to strengthen national security and everyone here knows it!
When Clinton left office, that simple act of vacating the office he descecrated for 8 years increased national security immensely.
If these idiot dems want to have hearings into the intel failures leading to 9/11 they best be prepared to find that Clinton and their own actions of cutting and undermining intel gathering will be reason #1.
And can ANY liberal tell me that there wouldn't have been a MAJOR ACLU/lib uproar over 'racial' profiling that action on a definitive pre 9/11 warning would've deemed necessary. Just think if Bush or Ashcroft on 8/7/01 said we will have to scrutinize all middle-eastern passengers/crew/maintenance personnel because of an Al Queda threat. All liberal hell would've broke out!
To: GivemeaBREAK!
Liberals are still bitching about ashcroft even after 9-11 !

"Gore labored and brought forth a mouse. His recommendations didn't include any of the steps outlined above; it amounted to little more than an informational exchange of airport-safety procedures and a call for stepped-up vigilance. Indeed, very few of his suggestions had anything at all to do with the menace of terrorism or with preventing the hijacking of American planes".I can't wait to forward this article to a number of 'Horrible Lefties' that I know.( Gore supporters,you know the type-"Al Gore has never done anything wrong")

Not only did Gore not do anything with the report that suggested the safeguards that should be implemented, but the fact is, he took campaign contributions in their place from the airlines who didn't want to make the changes because it would have cost them money....more than the contributions.
You don't hear the media or the esteemed Senators screaming about this in the well of the Senate now do you?Nope, instead to this day all we hear is, "what did President Bush know and when did he know it?"
