'Who's really paying for this?' The taxpayers of America. If it can't make enough money to stand on its own it should not be done. Get NPR off of the public dole.
To: Aedammair
I don't know; I'm a goy who worked for a Jewish developer in the '80s.
'Schwantz' he never called me! lol

The taxpayers of America. Yes indeed...some $350 million to fund Public Broadcasting this year. To see if your congress critter voted for it, click on my name and check out my home page.
Hint: OVER 100 REPUBLICANS VOTED TO FUND NPR/PBS.

The Mosaic law fervently protected property rights and gave the producer the right to that which he produced. Furthermore, Judaism brought forth the Protestant work ethic, which extolled productive behavior and individual success, both of which are anathema to socialists.
To: Aedammair
I think that you mean "schvartze" which means "black".
To: headsonpikes
Do you know what schwantz means?? It means penis and is not used in reference to anything but that!
To: The Electrician
Pardon me for kibbitzing, already, but I'm not black, either. ;^)
To: Betteboop
Hey, a schwantz I got! But such a word I never heard!
My employer was cultured.;^)
To: headsonpikes
There is a book called "The Joys of Yiddish" which is a wonderful dictionary of all those words and expressions. It gives pronunciations that are easy to understand and stories around many of the entries.

Thanks! I'll keep my eye peeled. ;^)
To: The Electrician
Thank you.
Totally off the subject, but I'm wondering if you know and wouldn't mind explaining what a pulse bomb is?
To: headsonpikes
Actually it's an old book, but it is in paperback and can be ordered from any of the major bookstores or Amazon.com If you have any interest in Yiddish and Jewish culture, it's a good book to have.

A weapon that would generate an EMP(electromagnetic pulse)that would shut down and/or destroy all electrical devices within range, including operating motor vehicles.
To: steamroller
If such a bomb was used how would that impact the area in which it was deployed? In other words the banking system and economy in general? And thanks for responding, I appreciate it.
To: Aedammair
If I'm not mistaken,an EMP is the simultaneous byproduct of a nuclear detonation, affecting areas beyond the immediate blast damage zone.
To: The Electrician
No - schwantze literally means "tail" (like at the end of a dog) but in derogatory context is more like "a%% hole".
To: Betteboop
There are dialects in Yiddish and you may be correct but in the Australian Yiddish millieu for schwantz see #37 - putz and schmuck are variants of "penis" but are used as in the US. Pronunciation is usually potz and shmock in the Polish Yiddish idiom but the Litwaks are to refined to use such words.
To: anapikoros
According to "The Joys of Yiddish, " Putz is rarely used to describe the "member," but rather as an insult. Shmuck is even more vulgar in that meaning.
Schwantz or shvantz might be German--not found in TJY. The only reference I know of is in "Young Frankenstein," when the term "schwantz-shtucke" was used and everyone knew what she was referring to.
To: Betteboop
I think the most hilarious Yiddish term is schtupping.
