I'm aware of this, but until this Nazi-era legislation was passed, German Jews had been fully legally German for generations.
I stress German Jews, because Jews wandering in at random from elsewhere were of course not German.

Also, the Nazi hatred for Jews was not for German Jews only, but for Jews in any country they overran. German Jews who got out in time continued to consider themselves German and continued to be culturally more German than anything else.

Yepp, that's true. Some tried to be more German as the non-jewish Germans. Just look at the Jeckes in Israel who are still very commited to German culture.

Exactly, Berlin has the largest number of Tuerkish citicens living outside Turkey. The second largest population after their own metropol Istambul. Then a large number of North Africans, and other muslim countries.Young Germans are in general, well educated in History and go by "never again" We do have problems with the young people from the former East Germany. But there we go again, they had a very different education than the West!
