Sources within Monaco question whether the black sheep launderer can risk sentencing Ted to further time.

The perennial "sunny place for shady people" is on the verge of acceptance by the European community.

To sentence an innocent American to further time would draw adverse publicity.

No one--but no one--privately believes the public cover-up.

To push it beyond the trial might very well push Monaco back into the shadows.

Our parishioner, Ted Maher, is in prison in Monaco awaiting trial. The Church of the Resurrection is accepting donations to its Donor Advised Outreach Fund (DAOF) to help Ted meet the legal expenses of having his expert witnesses testify in the trial.

If you would like to help, please make out a check to the Church of the Resurrection and write in the memo line: "DAOF: Ted Maher." Mail it to the Church at P.O. Box 148, Hopewell Junction, N.Y. 12533.

Donors should understand that gifts to the DAOF are donations to the Church. To protect both the donor and the Church, the Church gladly takes into consideration the donor’s wishes as to the ultimate recipients of their donations. Nonetheless, as it is a gift to a donor advised outreach fund, the donor grants the Church the unilateral right to determine the ultimate beneficiaries, consistent with the outreach mission purposes of the Church.

It is our understanding that donations to the Church for the DAOF are tax deductible. However, donors should always check with their own financial advisors.

The Church of the Resurrection is a parish in the Diocese of New York of the Episcopal Church.

The best thing for Monaco is to quietly release Ted for time served.

Whether one listens to the street or the elite, discretion is the better part of this proceeding.

Privately everyone knows Ted is a scapegoat.

Publicly the subjects of the police state wear their game faces.

Yet in Congress and the State Department and the editorial offices of influential media,

There is a bridge too far which Monaco approaches at its peril.

Oh the RICO fan tutti Grimaldis will go on in their moldy way--

But without the grace of the world they won in the mid-fifties,

And have squandered on drugs, ill-gotten bullion, and those "little white cars".

Monaco has an innocent American veteran in its prison,

having kidnapped his wife and threatened his children.

There was a line crossed in Moscow's clapping Ed Pope into Lefortovo Prison,

and the Joint Resolution of John Peterson, the Popes' representative, sailed through both houses on a unanimous voice vote,

Clinton mentioned it to Putin, and Pope was freed.

Bush and Congress have had this little war on terrorism on their hands,

so getting to Ted Maher was a process of time, a process now coming to fruition.

If the opinion of Monaco turns dark in the corridors of Congress, State and the media,

the supermarket checkouts and the Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous will turn fickly to another "paradise".

Choose a fatter bottom line, Monaco.
