The rest of the country would celebrate?

DC wouldn’t be the only place gone. Think of any area with a heavy US military presence. Northern plains and AFBs would be primary targets as well to prevent retaliation.

I don’t think many people grasp just how big a 2-mile fireball really is.

Would they still attempt to demand income taxes the next year?

The Great Reset has been in slow motion for decades. Recently pedal to the metal.
The politicians and big money seem so bent on destroying the US, not sure they would be against it.
We are merely eggs in the globalist omelette.

If the attack were delivered from a hostile power using ICBMs and SLBMs, the DC area would probably be hit by several nukes. Arlington Hall, Langley, Andrews Air Force Base and Camp David would also be among the targets.

Once I got done laughing my ass off and celebrating, I’d try to figure out which way the fallout was drifting and possiby make preparations.

The initial explosion would be considered a mere pop after the swamp gas was lit and generated a secondary explosion that took out the entire East Coast.

I watched “Jericho” faithfully when it was on CBS. Great show.
I’ve recently started watching it again on Paramount Plus. I find it more unsettling than when it originally aired.

A great reminder of how good it would be to avoid going to hell, which would be a lot worse and last a lot longer, by believing that God has saved only those who believe in the salvation offered to us by the death of Christ for our sins. He is a holy God and no sin can come into his presence. All of our sins, past present and future, must be forgiven by Christ by grace through faith alone. before we can come into His presence.
