I almost got hit by an Ebike down in Boston last fall. I stepped off the curb and a guy passed me doing 30 MPH. I never heard him until he yelled at me.

It would have been my fault. It was an extremely close call.

A new spanking new EV plant is going up outside Kokomo, IN. I predicted this new plant will become a huge money pit. I may yet be proven right.

These forecasters should have all been fired. Even a lay person could see once the problems became known sales would tank. These “experts” cost the companies Billions

Fired for what? Telling their puppet masters in the government exactly what they wanted to hear?

I'd rather see the rat bastards, at all levels of government, who pushed the EV boondoggle on the public, be hanged by their heels on the courthouse lawn.

Their lackeys at the auto companies just need a good caning. One stripe per executive for every million lost on EV development, marketing and manufacturing ought to be enough to get their attention. If they live through it.

And due to #2, only a fool would park an EV in his garage.

“EV euphoria is dead”

no surprise ... folks who bought into the “euphoria” three years or so ago have now found out that:

1. EVs have limited utility: not viable in winter or summer in most parts of the country and have limited range at all times

2. home chargers are expensive and generally take hours to charge

3. public chargers are almost non-existent and generally slow to charge ... long distance trips are essentially impossible ...

4. insurance costs are through the roof because the entire vehicle has to scrapped if there’s even a HINT that the battery is damaged

5. After three years or so when the battery is dead, dying or is losing significant capacity, EVs have almost no resale value and in fact might incur a significant cost just to get rid of them

6. super heavy duty tires are expensive and/or rapidly wear out

“I still find it incredible that auto manufacturers went all in on something that was obviously horribly flawed.”

agreed ... nonetheless, just another example of the ignorant morons who are in charge of a majority of major corporations ...

“Buyers remorse will hit hard when the batteries in these electric carts have to be replaced.”

i suspect that’s a large part of what’s going on with the first generation of EV buyers ...

“The other shoe to drop? That would be how to dispose of all that toxicity.”

exactly ... not only is there zero resale value for an EV that has used up its battery, but folks are soon going to find out that it’ll cost ‘em a fortune to dispose of them ...

“The only MAJOR issue is that the batteries occasionally start on fire.”

Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

Here in Arkansas there has been a rush to get into drilling for Brine Water as it has Lithium in it for EV use. About a year ago the spot market for this was through the roof and there was going to be hearing by the Board here that handles Minerals to consider a Royalty increase, well that fell through as the price for Brine Water for Lithium collapsed so no Royalty Increase and I have a share in a Brine well but have been getting steady royalties for years as Brine Water us used for many other things in the chemical industry.

Mazda came out with two new Plug In Hybrid Models and I considered getting one but even with the Tax Credit and such I just didn’t want to spend what they wanted on one and I was considering leasing. Saved $20,000 and got a new CX 30 instead.
Prices on EV and even Hybrids are just too high.

Automakers trotted out optimistic sales forecasts for electric models and announced ambitious targets for EV growth.

Want to bet a hockey stick graph was involved?
