Now the region is suffering ethnic cleansing, deporting non-Russophones by the tens of thousands into the interior of the Federation., denying medical care to anyone who has a Ukrainian passport, etc. Putin making his fantasy come true at the point of a gun.
Since major targets in the US would be large cities. Any strikes would disproportionately affect minorities.

Don’t look forward to a time when countries will start throwing around nukes. It is not possible for nuclear weapons to destroy the earth, but destroying humanity is very possible.
According to the 2023 UN State of World Population report, the current world population is 8 billion — detonating about 400 atomic bombs would wipe out humanity, and there would be no life on earth for a long time.
We currently have a little over 5500 nuclear devices and a little over 1800 ways to deliver them which includes MIRVed warheads on ICBM’s, and bombers. (Not including the Tybee bomb) So if only 400 devices being fired will destroy humanity, we alone are in overkill already. And Russia has a bigger stockpile than we do. And if you believe science, it would take around 100 to create enough particles in the atmosphere to cause a nuclear winter and starve everyone to death over the next few years if that amount was tossed.
Russia knows this. Their entire thought process is survival at all costs. Don’t bet on a nuclear war with them.
Fear the real crazies like North Korea or the middle east. They have no fear of death and a number of them welcome it. That’s your loose cannon.
